How Youtube’s Censorship is Expanding Steemit and DTube
Many political youtubers and journalists that have gained a large following on Youtube have been complaining for a while that they have been DEMONETIZED by Youtube more and more and are not able to make money from certain videos because of their political stance! The main groups that are affected so far by this are the conservatives/libertarians/independents. And that is a very large portion of the population. And more and more people of all political stances are beginning to notice how much power Youtube has to decide how much money anybody can make based on if they like you or if they don’t. Luke Rudkowski from WeAreChange said that 660 videos that he had posted on youtube were demonetized in a SINGLE DAY. He said that it was his core source of income, which was basically wiped out in a blink of an eye. That is just one many examples. Diamond and Silk had 95% of their videos demonetized by Youtube for supporting Trump. Mark Dice is another example. This is most definitely demotivating youtubers from creating more content which then brings the question, “Where should we all go if we want freedom for all voices and justice?”
Decentralized, free-speech platforms like Steemit are gaining steam with independent thinkers that understand the necessity of freedom and to not be manipulated in the hands of monopolies like Youtube and Google. The monetization of Steemit blogs and the new attachment of DTube videos is HIGHLY ATTRACTIVE for journalists, producers, and bloggers because it can also be more profitable than Youtube. It starting to look like a no-brainer, when we’re comparing it to Youtube or Facebook which are basically “controlled ghettos” where you HAVE TO PAY to gain followers because FB suppresses organic growth in order to maximize their profits by forcing you to pay. That is why the amount of Steemit is continually increasing as seen here:
When tyrants that abuse their power for their own interests and for greed, it is a HUGE promotion for platforms like Steemit to rise up and replace the old centralized social media platforms that are censoring and demonetizing users . Share this knowledge with as many people as possible because there is a huge necessity for the existence and growth of Steemit and DTube as well as any other platforms that promote freedom of speech.
