Main problem
There is one thing what makes me angry at steemit! - Fake accounts... They are so problematic for me because it only gives me illusion of my progress here, and nothing is fun and fantastic about having 1000 followers and only 10 people gives you upvotes and only 2 gives you a comments, that's why people who buys subscriptions at YT looks funny or as looser because of stupid look when you have 100k subs and only 3-6k views per video.
People starts to think that you buying subs, and you are creating useless videos or not funny even if they so, but they don't wanna watch it.
And now I did a small post about informing my followers which participate in my SBD giveaway:|

AND GUESS WHAT HAPPEN?!
I got instantly in one minute more that 10 followers - No upvotes - No comments nothing. Also by looking at their names you can see that they are created in random way like: @imann, @tianam, @aliram ect (there is hundred of them) - All of this accounts follow more than 20 000 accounts because people works in way "Oh he followed me? That's nice I will follow him too", and that's why they have followers.
Also they follow themselves so by seeing them you can think that they do something interesting - but they have 25 rep ect., and they post random shit.
I think that somebody create this account's and offer other people from YT more views by cash, so he treats steemit as a trash bin for it.
Ask for help
I BELIEVE in Steemit platform that's why I asking @steemitblog or @fyrst-witness even @ned, basically everyone to do something to get rid of this.
I know that somebody will come up and say: "but what's the problem - you have more followers you should be happy" And remember it: That's newbie thinking.
I'm content creator, and basically I did creating content mainly for YouTube by 3 years now for my account in my origin language and I know how it looks, how it feels if you have big number of people who follows you and only few of them really watches what you are doing, and this things happen to large group of people, because they see only numbers so they happy because subs count is growing but after few moments they starts to be aggressive ect. BECAUSE THEY DON'T DID A REAL PROGRESS. They starts to searching where is problem, why they have so many subs, but none of them is watching they work, they did hard work for them. Some of they quits after that.

Calling them Shadow Accounts.
Ask yourself:
Do you wanna have 10 followers who watches you, comments you and do interactions with you, or you wanna have fake 1000 followers so you can tell your parents or family that you are "Successful" ?
If you wanna choose second one, ask yourself what gonna be if you have this 1000 fake followers and you do a lot of work for steemit and nobody see it, nobody comment's it?
You see that's even if your following number is growing that's not real progress, nobody wanna to live in illusion.
That's irritates me because maybe I have now more than 230 followers now but in reality I have maybe 80? 120? Who knows how many of fake followers I have.
I also saw that fake followers comes from specific tags, when I posts something in #gaming tag there is not so much of them, but when you post article or anything in popular tags like I used for this article and similar big tags, there can be ton of them.
Just please do something.

I was talking about this topic from a different angle just the other day, instead of removing inactive followers, I rather treat the followers number plus not give it any value.
Why? because automatically removing inactive ones (without also harming legit users by error.)
Making a button to remove followers you don't want (as in block a user from following you, but not blocking their posts/comments) may be a good option I'd like to see, but most of the people who want a high number of followers won't use that function if it's there.
Followers aren't a measure of success, the follow function is there only to let you put interesting people's post in your feed, I don't know when it became a measurement standard.
It's hard to solve this problem, and even if now it's isn't problem in future it will. I wanna have big number of followers but I prefer real ones because this are people who can give me power here. With gaining big numbers and nothing else like 100k subs, and 3-6k views per vid, it only can gain frustration.
I think that maybe we should have another think like bell on Youtube, If somebody wanna be 100% followers he should choose bell icon?
there is another problem, because on youtube you can have 20 people with name Mardax, but here not, and fake account's registers names so somebody will be forced to use name "imann2321323123213"
I wanna see here a bigger picture. If steemit wanna be a big social page we need to prevent from fakers, and bots ect, or we end up like YouTube facebook ect, and then people will run to another site project like Steemit because steemit becomes what we wanna ran of.
If this gonna be like this forever I should go somewhere else. I just wanna have health audience.

I also noticed this. Everytime i post a new content, about 4-8 new followers would pop up at the same time. Like what you have said, no comments or whatsoever. I've checked one account and all its content were just videos from other net sources. I also wonder how they got easily in the platform. It took me two weeks to get here though. Thanks for making a good content for this. Hoping all become aware. 👍
I've found finding real people difficult compared to other platforms but the work is worth it. We're building a great community of gamers
You have a good point and I agree but J think right now, since we are still in beta, this is just something we must deal with. Until we get SBD down to $1 and STEEM to be at its true value it won’t really matter anyway. We need to be able to buy STEEM with fiat to get mainstream instead of going through other sites and we need to not hit a certain number of followers or even members but daily users before we can talk about STEEMIT as a viable social media platform. I think for now people should be creating content if they WANT to and putting it on many locations and also if they want to sharing information, especially the content that is more censored, here on Steemit so we don’t lose it all into the internet abyss. We can all create our own organic following here on Steemit and that’s who my followers are and I am thankful but it takes a lot of persistent hard work to get there and make any money which may be secondary to you or other users. For me I hope to blog when I can and say something worth something and hopefully have my followers see it and Upvote it and have yet to get the comments I really want to see from some hard work but oh well, we are still only beginning. Blogging may be dead after all and vlogs are probably what people want and I think the biggest barrier is only having a http interface. We need a DTube app, DLice with Superchat and we also need more apps. We need a Android TV OS app for DTube and DLive. We need iOS apps and Android apps. That is simply where we need to be before we come out of beta and make STEEM break into the top 15 if not top ten if not top five cryptocurrencies.
