RE: How I choose what to upvote at steemit - Minnow Tip

in #steemit7 years ago

Good rules!! resteemed! And upvoted :) The upvoting is a good tip - hard to follow if you are a small, small fish :) I learned from you about keeping voting power up and while it is hard - I want to vote for so many good posts - I think it is very good advice. If the voting power goes too low, the vote doesn't benefit anyone :(

Exactly! I really had to break myself of like, like, like here. I feel like commenting is also a good way to show support. The average post has less than three comments so you are usually welcome even if you can't upvote.

I upvoted your recent post - I hope you can get the photo changed and then I will promote. Good for you on the kudos - it always helps make a better day.

Thank you so much I did change it to Jpg. Still not showing. Then I changed the size - thought it might have been to0 small. Still - nada. Little bit frustrated with that.

Don't know Why my Canva graphics don't work as thumb nails. Frustrating!!

I know you are going for SEO here and such. You might know this, but here is a hack to get a short slug without stop words. Just write the words you want to be in your slug in the title. Publish, Then immediately edit to the title you want to show on the platform. And update :)

Brilliant! No I have not thought of that but now I will do it always! The short slug makes a huge difference and mondayred does nothing but add confusion lol.

Your other thumbnails show - maybe try copying the canva file and re-exporting the jpeg. I've had glitches with it a few times - always my fault as I investigate :)

I just moved the YouTube into the first position. Downloaded it 4 different ways. So frustrating. Basically, I can't do a graphic in the thumbnail until I have found a different program

Yikes! What are you downloading to? Can you email it to yourself direct from canva? Feel free to email it to me if you want to try that lol.

I've had troubles, but I always got something I can use. The You tube thumbnail looks fine though so don't worry - put your graphic back below somewhere and it will not matter if it is a jpg or png.

I also tried this - only having one canva graphic in the file. So I don't have to choose to export only page 1 because there is only one page. I can't remember why I had to do that for someplace once but it worked.

I figured it out! just couldn't think any more last night. If I upload it to igmur and use the markdown link from there - it works !! I was downloading it to my desktop, then ran it through Tiny - now, I have to add this extra step....

Just for the thumbnail. The other graphics show up fine in the text.

Learned something new!! yay!!

Oh that's great. I'm glad it worked. Yes, it is only the thumbnail that has ever been a problem for me.
