I totally understand your pain.
I get the endless streams of “nice post” comments as well and have answered questions that were very clearly answered in the post on many occasions.
Many people are just commenting to get their name on posts that are performing well and in front of people who might upvote them more than a few cents.
They don’t read the whole article since all they’re doing is skimming it to get a basic understanding of the topic before commenting.
It’s quite disrespectful given the amount of effort that goes in to producing good content. My post yesterday took about 4 hours to prepare for example. Thankfully most of the comments are good. But some people very clearly just skimmed over my content without taking in the main points.
When there’s potential for financial gain, there will always be those who just want a quick win. But if people took this seriously, and only followed people whose content they enjoyed, then the comments and engagement would be all the better.
