I remember several years ago Poloniex was hacked and lost some customers coins and Poloniex payed back all that was lost Therefore I believe they are good people running Poloniex

You are absolutely right, but they will have to fix this issue soon to avoid loosing customers everyday.
I've heard that they already lost a large portion of their volume over to Bittrex.
