One of the wonders of the World!
A few days ago I went to the Panama Canal to see and learn more about this wonder of the world, I had the fortune of seeing a ship pass through the locks and one of the workers would not allow me to take pictures, I did not understand why. But rules are rules and must be respected.
I do not want to talk about this wonder of the world, I want to talk about what it means to be in the Panama Canal and watch those boats or nannies as they are called go and move those mastodons.
I am very impressed that the nannies that are very small compared to those boats and that have 0.01% of the force that should have such large ships could move them so easily.
This publication is a recognition for those people who work in the Panama Canal and who keep it open 365 days of year.
This post is an recognition to that wonder of the world for allowing the passage of filled containers to satisfy the demand that the world has regarding trade.
Great pictures. I'd to like to visit this place some day (though am in no rush). It's got to be the shortest distance between the Atlantic and the Pacific anywhere in the world, tips of the continents excepted. It'd be so weird doing the journey, coast to coast; I'm sure it'd only be a fairly short taxi-ride. Maybe you did it?
Regards being allowed to take pictures, a lot of places are funny like that due to the threat of terrorism. It's good you managed to sneak a few, all the same. :)
@zool237. Yes, from Panama City (pacific) to Colon (Atlantic) on the highway it only takes 1:30 minutes, I hope you come and enjoy, Panama is a very nice country, regards
It is a huge port. large scale of business and transportation from that port.
@estp
@estp. So it is, with the construction of the channel expansion for larger ships is impressive.
