Sounds like you have a lot of work. At least you have that nifty tractor. I'm still using axes and shovels but I did manage to get me a nice BCS tiller from a friend for a really low price. Ever looked at just piling all your brush and renting a nice chipper and turning it all into compost for you planting? It is a lot easier to burn it I will admit that. I got goats to learn some of my property. They even ring the trees and clear them out and then I let the hogs in and they will till it all up for me getting ride of all the root systems of what is there so I can come in a plant behind. Good luck on your night under the stars.

I could not imagine doing this work without a tractor! My hats off to you brother. I have a chipper and we were using it when we first started, but it was just to slow, we really needed to get this project done as quickly as we could. I was worried that the power line company would come by and spray herbicides, I definitely do not want that on my land because we are planing on growing organically. I could have told them not to spray, but you never know if the right person will get the memo. We are not able to use animals as you are doing because we do not live on site yet, I have experience with goats and would not dare leave those little buggers unattended LOL. When we start clearing for the garden we are planning on using the chipper to make mulch, we are going to give the Back To Eden method of gardening a try. Thanks for commenting and I appreciate the thumbs up!

I am still in my younger years so I just figure it is good for me. Don't have to spend a day at the gym. Always nice starting a new site though. You can setup a nice permaculture food forest. We also grow organically and what made a huge difference for us is our worm business. I can produce plenty of quality worm castings for my mixtures and also for my worm teas to spray on pastures between rotating livestock and personal crops without using chemicals. Good luck on your new adventure I will be checking in to see how things are going.
