With the ban on new accounts lifted, Steemit is once again taking off like a rocket!
Famous YouTubers and bloggers are leaving their platforms behind and bringing their massive audiences over to our incredible new community. Posts are regularly earning $5,000-10,000 while a select few earn as much as $35,000!
It's an exciting time to say the least.
And amongst this incredible growth, Techcrunch is reporting that Reddit is still struggling.
It's been six months since Reddit ousted its former CEO Ellen Pao, but even with cofounder Steve Huffman back at the helm, Reddit is struggling to turn the ship back around. Employees are leaving and the culture sounds like it's a mess.
Now Reddit is still huge, but it can't match the kind of incentives that Steemit has to offer. If Karma points were enough to grow Reddit to the behemoth it has become, who knows what will be possible with Steem dollars and Steem Power on the line.
I'm excited to see what comes next and curious to hear what you all think.
Can Steemit become bigger and more influential than Reddit?
In my opinion, it's only a matter of time.
i just started steemit recently let's see
What do you think so far?
Are you saying Steemit is not as big as Reddit? You must have just mis-spoke :p
yes and my two cents, I love Steemit and never really liked/used reddit
I've always loved the idea of Reddit more than the actual thing. Steemit took that idea and made it so much better!
A definite yes. Steemit broke the record for the quickest growing social media platform. It just keeps rising as well! We're gonna be moon walkin' soon.
It's hard to believe it's still in beta. I feel like it will surpass bitcoin before it surpasses the size and scope of reddit.
Well of course it pays real money :D
Good point :)
Yes it can! Probably sooner that we can expect.
You're probably right. I was thinking it would take like 3 years but with the kind of growth were seeing, maybe it would be a lot less.
Screw Reddit. They're the biggest censoring a-holes on the whole Internet.
