RE: Does anyone have any data on how much of the reward pool is currently controlled by bid bot use?

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

Hey @firepower,

I just found this related article: https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@firedream/24-hrs-analysis-of-bid-bot-usage-in-steemit

Bidbots use approximately %23 of the daily produced steem that goes into the reward pool. Even if all upvoted posts are spam bidbots are responsible of only %23 of spam in Steemit.

It wouldn't surprise me if that is accurate. So much for good content being selected by the community. I appreciate some vote sellers distribute what they make, but some must be getting rich. I'm not buying votes and I don't look at trending

@steevc, the post is like one month old, so right now it's maybe a little bit less because of the steem value drop. So people right now don't see that much benefit in getting like 10% benefit.

I'm using it from time to time sadly, but it's not easy to get started and I want to promote my project which will help minnows. :) (*Advertisement) :D

But I totally agree with the statement that I don't spend time on the trending category at all.

Thank you. I'll take a look at it now.

That's great @firepower,

let me hear what you think about it. I've also written you on discord. :)
