Finding your mind in a rut?
Relentlessly browsing through Steemit / internet posts for hours?
Amazing content right before your eyes, pin pointing and nudging at the very quiet creative soul inside of you. Immersed in other's day to day lifestyles and posts can be both a inspiration and a curse. Especially when something seems to be holding you back... Ahh!
So what's the deal .. a creative block? How does this even happen?
Maybe you've been feeling less inspired, depressed for some reason, insecure with your writing, nervous about being judged, fear the uncertainty, unsure of what to write about, how to represent yourself or have personal things that could be hindering you from freeing your mind.. Have kids? Get interrupted often? Yep, I can relate! If you decided to click this article you could possibly be experiencing one right this very moment... Whether you are just starting out or are experienced, taking the first step during a numbing creative block can become a hard or even daunting task at times. Ignoring and prolonging this feeling will eventually kill your motivation and confidence all together while precious time slips right through your fingertips then BAM! - days, weeks, maybe even years have passed!
Maybe you, like myself, just need a little pick me up!
Rest assured. Remind yourself that you are not alone and yes it sucks!
You know deep down inside you need a jump start, take back control of your creativity, hack into your will power and reset yourself. That unwelcoming creative block has overextended it's stay and needs run away or be destroyed. Mu-ah ah!
Here are 5 tips I like to keep in mind while attempting to find my roar again:
• TRY SOMETHING NEW:
Disrupt your normal routine. Nothing exciting or new comes from comfort zones! Go outside, go for a walk, talk to people - be brave in trying new things.
• SET THE MOOD:
Declutter your work space, light a candle, pour some coffee / wine, listen to music, dance or sing out loud! Prepare your atmosphere and pamper your soul for greatness.
• REKINDLE WHAT INSPIRES YOU:
Take a moment to research, get crafty, create a visual / mood board, make lists of ideas and branch them out. Love Business? Design? Photography? Mom life? Discover, write, create things that inspire YOU or be brave enough to blog about areas you want to grow in. Document and allow the world in to witness your humbling journey. In the end researching, exploring, detailing and educating others about your experiences will result in the confidence and growth in yourself. They are looking to learn or express themselves just as you are, so stay open minded, learn while sharing your experiences together.
• OWN YOUR WORTH / BE POSITIVE:
After you have taken a moment to set the mood and reflect on inspiration, take a moment to collect yourself. Kill your doubt by reciting positive affirmations. Envision what you'd like to accomplish and the feeling of conquering your goals. Center your energy and remind yourself of your worth. Every person is unique, in different stages in their life and have something special to offer. You are worthy, you are unique, you are capable. Take a look in the mirror, say it all out loud - whatever it takes - just face your insecurities and OWN it.
• ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE VULNERABLE:
Remember back to an article that encouraged you to better yourself? It was most likely in that writer's very own vulnerability overcoming their own trials and errors then writing about it that inevitably intrigued you. You took what you needed from their article / experiences and discard the rest ... yet something resonated within you. How can you encourage a positive impact on others? Dig down deep. Be authentic, encourage by giving your readers something they can relate to.
Start small or go BIG. Unravel in your thoughts, curate later.
Don't just type - talk to your keyboard, make love to it, tell it all your secrets, hopes and dreams. Stop worrying about perfection, no one is perfect, perfection is overrated. Allow yourself to have the courage and power to just start. Let yourself in and in doing that you will find the right words to let your readers in..

XO,
Great job baby!
Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment.
