( Set a max amount of times a person can use a bot per day )
I'm with you this is great idea

thank you very much :)

All these are plausible...

I guess there need to be some restrictions when it comes to things that are not fundamental to steemit.

Buying of votes is not align with the original framework of steemit. I use the bots every now and then. But it does not make sense when it start to overthrow the sense in contributing value to the blockchain.

All these will create another impression in the eyes of the 'outsiders' - another ponzi scheme? (Or what would you call getting some much money from posting pictures). It will also mislead a lot of new users.

I am having a very poor network that would not load the pictures.

Thank you for voicing this loud.

Yeah exactly it makes us look like douchebags... why even try on a post when you can just create steem with the click of a button on a bot, It will loose its legitimacy and value really quick if this continues...

Bots should automatically stop accepting bids once ROI hits negative percentages obviously it's just costing everyone money.

They should do no such thing. You're missing the point of pay-for-vote. It should never have been about ROI on an individual post. People who are going for ROI are get getting what they deserve.

Expecting an ROI is insane and unsustainable. It would be death for the platform. It would be BitConnect.

The purpose of bid bots is to get exposure you wouldn't normally get. If you post something that nobody sees, you can pay for a vote. It's like paying for ads on Google Adsense. Can you imagine if people complained about not getting their money back from using Google Adsense?

If you don't make money from Google Adsense, you stop using it and find another strategy. But what you're suggesting is that if people can't make money from using Google Adsense, Google should stop selling them ads. That's idiotic.

Ad campaigns never look for ROI on individual ads. They use campaigns to build exposure over time. Once they reach a certain level of exposure, they end the campaign and see how they do without continuous ads. Sometimes they resume their ads or they change to a different strategy.

If you aren't getting more readers after paying for a bunch of upvotes, you should consider that you might have bad content.

All great points ! I think whats happening is that people who dont like the bots are purposely pushing them well below , into the negative so that those using them are getting a loss , to try and force them from using it . So I agree , like you said that as soon as the bots hit 0 they should stop taking bids and return the money .But of course that wont stop people from pushing them to zero ! So for sure the other points you make
would at least make the bots less "undesireable" to those that hate people who use them . The whole system needs to change so we dont need bots to begin with in order to earn more then 0 on our posts !! 😀👍👍👍 Upped and resteemed !!👍👍👍

I agree 100% even letting them go too zero roi makes it pointless to use them and no one should have too to begin with but if they did do some of the things I listed above bots would actually be really profitable just more evenly spread out more fair... thanks for the reply

Bots have never had a good return, perhaps a small profit or a small loss or you break even, most people who bid high just want to either have their post trend hoping it will get more views and votes, or want to increase their REP. I see the recommendations you give, I guess you know that the owners of these bots and the people who delegate their SP actually expect a profit, so I don't think they are willing to put limits on how the bots work.

don't they make like 95% profit off them why woud that change? Everyone wins but instead of the whales winning by running the bots and using them for there own posts too it should be more fair for everyone, i'm spit balling trying to actually come up with something instead of just cast doubt on any solution or bit of hope in a good resoultion to a very bad problem....

I don't know how much they make, but it is a lot more than the users, take into account they also get the curation reward. I know you are looking for a solution, it's just that a solution in this case is very difficult because these bots have never had a good return and yet people in spite of the fact that they lose money when they use them continue doing so.

Thanks for taking the time to explain whats going on hopefully a few people will notice this post and pass it along to the dev's I know alot of people in here agree on some things and have great ideas too, cheers :)

Bots probably won’t ever go away so it only makes sense to regulate how they are used to some extent. Restricting the amount of voting power purchased and the amount spent on bots per day makes sense. I’d also go as far as saying that no one should need to buy upvotes for more than one post per day. Beyond that, you’re just scamming the system.

I like that idea too, thanks for getting involved :)
