I have been on steemit for 5 months now and I am so close to my slider it hurts! I should have had it last week but with steemit glitching my delegation disappearing for no reason at all, I am stuck yet another week without a slider :( and let's face it, I am having real issues keeping my power up and giving out votes the way I want to.
However, I was talking to @apanamamama the other day and she told me that you can actually download a slider even if you don't have 500sp (well actually a million vests but thats so much harder to understand, anyhow) Pretty fricken awesome right? I thought so... I just wish I would've known about this months ago! It would have made my life so much easier on steemit. Especially since I love to curate so much and also upvote everyone who comments on my page! At this point I might as well wait though, because I know I will be getting my slider through steemit basically tomorrow. But for all you people who want a slider and are still going to have to wait a while, here you go ;) ENJOY:
Ok, after many comments I am updating this post! I guess there is a site out that is much much easier than downloading the slider, its called busy.org check it out!

A few other things I learned this week was you that you can actually download your pictures right to steemit, you don't have to use a third party like imgur!? Mind blown! You just click the green highlighted words below your posting box that says selecting them. Sure you don't get as many options with sizes and you can't edit it, but if you just want to slap a picture on a post it is super easy! Thanks for showing me this @nairadaddy!
Then @lucylin showed me that you could extend the box where you type so you can see more! Pretty cool stuff if you write long comments like I do, its always a pain to be scrolling up and down to see what you are writing. Click in the bottom right hand corner of the posting or comment box and you drag it to be the entire size of the page! NO more scrolling up and down to read what you have wrote!
Another open secret people ask me about is how I get my posts all pretty, well the answer is right where you make the post, it is highlighted as Markdown Styling Guide right below the posting box. Click on that and it will tell you the tricks to making things highlighted, bold, both, emoji's :wink: and so many other fun things to make your articles more appealing! Give them a try!

The slider bar is really useful for distributing more votes to more people. It's a nice tool to have. @ironshield

You just taught me a few new tricks, @moderndayhippie. I knew that bit about the photo uploading, but I didn't know that the post entry box could be stretched, and that is something I have always wished for. I've already tried it out on my computer, and am curious as to how it will work out on my phone.

Me too! I just learned that a few days ago! Apparently if u click and drag the pics in you get more option with the picture too!?! Someone just told me that this morning. Lol..

glad it could help. The slider really isnt important until after you get about 300sp.. thats when your upvotes will be about .10 each and it gets hard to keep your power up if you like to upvote as much as i do :)

Just use busy.org. Comes with slider for everyone.
Bonus: if you use the busy tag (can be as fifth tag) you will get an upvote from the busy bot too. Currently the bot is down to dB migration on steemd but it should be back in some days.
Biggest issue is that all links we click are steemit ones.

Like Steemit.com is an interface to the Steem blockchain, busy.org is another one.
The busy team are close to Steemit team, bed is even listed as an advisor. They use Steemconnect for authentication. It’s a nice setup.
PS: seems the busy bot is functional again too. :)

I could have sworn I got a slider before 500 SP
yeah, depending on when you joined steemit you prolly did. Before this last hard fork (19) everyone had a slider, but they changed it so you need 500sp to get it, i dont know why. however you can still get a slider before that if you get some sp delegated to you that pushes you over 500sp..
There are many ways to improve your posts and make them better looking. I am working on logo picture now. It looks cool when people brand their account. And, it makes it look more "fancy" to say. Lol :)

I have used steemauto before, but I honestly curate so much i don't have voting power to be delegating away.. maybe when my upvotes are worth more ill try it again. I haven't heard of @steemdunk, what is that?
Another auto voting service that also randomly up-votes posts to help boosts its members. Nothing over the top, but I'm sure that will build as it does.

Here's another steemit tip that I've found extremely helpful: If you are on a pc, use the "clipping tool" to capture an image (any image), then control-v to paste it in the editor box... voila! The clipboard image is uploaded and linked instantly! This has saved me HOURS! @ironshield
Where or what is this clipping tool you speak of!? Lol.. maybe im not computer savvy enough to learn that trick..
Nice trick. Just paste it from the clip board. Images are really a slow down but necessary evil.

I'm not sure how to use it yet but I will read over this more carefully. And the picture trick. We are always learning something new. But sorry you didn't catch it earlier. Sorry man, i honeatly never used that slider cuz i was so close to mine from steemit that i just waited. I took that link from an article i read about the slider. One of my friends sent me to that post saying it was the slider she downloaded and it worked great.. im glad u dont download stuff thats not safe, i woulda done the same thing as u..

I'm kind of an internet chicken. I used blocktrade for the first time yesterday. I was afraid to touch my wallet for the first 2 weeks on Steemit. I understand.
try busy.org to get your slider! ;) a bunch of people have commented to me about it, i have never personally tried it.. but i guess @ned is part of the team or something like that.. so it should be safe.

I did indeed :) if you have high quality pictures it takes a while to upload, but normal ones are done extremely fast!
