One thing Steemit needs to improve quickly!

One Thing 2.png

There is one significant thing Stemmit should improve fast for severals Reasons.
Yes, I know that this community is still young and I think you can’t expect a perfect site in this young stage. We need to give the people who are working on it time to improve this community continuously. If I would be asked, what should be the main topic Stemmit should improve at first, I wouldn’t need so much time to answer that question. In fact, I would say it immediately.

And that's the:

Search Function.png

There are more things, of course, but the search function is my number one.

Why is that?

Do you remember what Google made happen when they came with their new search technology? It increased the User experience to the next level. It changed how we use the world wide web. Compared to the big player at that time called Yahoo, Googles search functionality drew the masses.

To search is our main act to come to the place we want to, or better: to find, what we are looking for. The search functionality is the big gold door into the Stemmit Community World. Into every Community. It's so important for new users, who are looking for specific content but also for users who are already long on this site.

Right now the search functionality is often really frustrating because it loses the results sometimes, and you have to type it again, to scroll down, look into one post, which looks interesting to you, but you were wrong. You are going back, and you see the empty white Page.

Again you have to type the phrase. And this maybe a lot of times. I don’t know how you feel about it, but it tires me. And that lowers the user experience dramatically.

Also, the search function should be more accurate and better categorized to find the content I actually want to consume.
Not everyone is a content creator. Many are only content consumers, and especially for them, Stemmit should improve this function quickly. And I mean it; quickly!

But also creators will benefit a lot from it. If you are good at a certain topic and people could specifically search for it, you got a much better chance to be found by others.

Because if these type of users don’t get the experience they want or know, for example from a site like medium.com, they will leave the site fast.
We all know what this would and will mean. But not only for them, but all of us would also profit so much from that.

It would also be nice if they would show how much reads a post got, this could be helpful to select the content by certain tags or phrases without actually clicking on it.
I hope we will see an improvement in that area soon. Like I said for me its the number one on my list.

How about you? What is for you the most important thing which needs to be improved quickly?

Let me know it in the comments.

AskSteem.com is what you're looking for ;)

Not exactly. I know this site and the search function there is ok.
But in my opinion, it's not a friendly way if you have to visit another site for searching. This decreases the user experience a lot. If i were the owner of this site i would never expect from my users that they visit another site for a better search, but that is only my opinion ;)

I would love to see more sophisticated tagging, and ability to search tags.

I agree with you.
