RE: Thanks For Making Me #1 On Steemit AGAIN!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Great to hear you are doing well. I think as more people join, it will get more difficult for them be successful. Those who were/are early to steemit and gain a following with quality work, will continue to do well.

It reminds me of way back in 2010. There were 100,000 apps on apples app store. I released an app, a fully functioning date wheel for engineers and project managers. I didn't know how to promote it or market it and it never got traction. I spent maybe $6,000 over three years and earned about $1,000 in sales. And this was when it was much easier to release an app successfully, before the app store exploded in number of apps in the store. Today, you need a unique app and a big marketing budget to even try to be successful. I think it will be same as steemit gets more users, since there will be a lot of competition and an infinite amount of blogs to choose from.

How do you see new steemit users becoming successful over the oncoming years? For me, I wrote a single article before I knew much about steemit or how it worked or had any followers. I got only a couple of comments/replies. My strategy now is to write high quality replies to blogs until I can build up a strong following and then I'll start writing blogs.
