Because of the Steem API. Steemit is in a unique position to allow users to create their own trending tabs and moderate the comments on their blog. This same logic could be used to filter the feed as well.

Secondary concerns are instant signups. Simply make new accounts have 0 SP and you kill all the bots trying to exploit the system while letting anyone make an account instantly. Of course, there would have to be a function to delegate bandwidth (separate from SP) so new accounts could comment and post.

I'd also like to see a favorites list for users and individual posts.

Man can my idea seem banal! But I lack the function of personal messages! For example, I need to write a message to you personally, but I can not do it. In order to write a message to the user, I need to look for it in other places - discord or facebook. I think that personal messages are necessary for steemit. This function will become frequently used! 100%

Yes you are right a private chat is definitely needed. For now if you really want to send a private message without leaving Steemit. Simply put send a transfer to the user you want to message and put a # symbol as the first character in the memo field and only you and the reciever will be able to see the message.

I did not know this thanks for the new info I sent you a message to test :)

I think the overall graphics of the site need a lot of work. I used to like how it looked before the updated, but I guess its more of personal preference. I know its a superficial suggestion, but the look and feel of the site doesn't seem to have any appeal or merit on its own.

Alerts, maybe there is a feature to turn on alerts I don’t know, but sometime people comment on posts and it can be tricky to find them for long periods sometimes.

If you have IOS you can download the Steemify app made by @blockbrothers

I actually do have the app, but I don’t get notifications, do I have to turn them on? Thanks

I believe you have to set it up the guy behind the app did a little demonstration

What about a “real” shop on which you can buy things with SBD? It will give more value to SBD and it would be a perfect example of real applicability of the blockchain

@toofasteddie - this is a great idea, especially if you can integrate it into your blog page similar to the "shop now" button from Facebook. There are a lot of creatives using Steem who would likely sell their products over the platform and this could be another way for fans of their work to earn curation coins helping them spread their content, and then spend it supporting their work. In the case of a musician it would be like earning the album for supporting the artist, and still "buying" the album in the process.... it's perfect!

That is already there. Just hit the menu button next to your profile pic.

@mrviquez I always thought thesteemitshop was mainly just for items branded by Steemit. I didnt realize it was possible to build your own online shop over the platform... Are you saying that's possible?

Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure you can.

https://thesteemitshop.com is one site you can do that.

With no so many stuff... that’s why I said “real”.
I’m not referring to merchandising stuff but any other stuff...like a little amazon

I see what you mean.

What feature is needed most right now in Steemit and why?

Although steemit is a project with a lot of benefits, we need a little control, we know that the basis is decentralization, but as a new user I see opinions from one side and the other, I think we need to reach a consensus on what really is part of a clean operation (free of spam, flags and bots), that we return to the essence of supporting quality, as well as create a direct form of communication and improve the rewards system in SP

I liked the "top comment" section that steemit use to have

Also I agree with the private message that someone else brought up earlier

The secret chat feature, because with this feature we can connect directly, secrets and saves time

This is not so much of a feature, but I think that an app, and I know that there are plenty of apps on the Steem blockchain right not, but an app that will merge everything that these small apps are doing into one.

Right now we have Esteem, Steemify, SteemApp, SteemMonitor and many more. My idea is an app that will allow for a smoothly operating posting feature, a notification feature, a non-glitchy feed and tags viewer, a profile manager, a feature that shows the analytical part of the Steem blockchain, similar to steemdb.com for example, and perhaps even SteemChat all in one. Right now we have to jump in between various apps, making it a nightmare to use. It is also slightly discouraging to many new users joining Steemit.

All of this put together into one app that would be available for both iOS and Android would inevitably result in a higher amount of people joining. Most people, some of my friends whom I showed Steemit to, are interested and hooked onto it, but all tend to ask why there is no one Steem app. In an era where everything, and I mean even paying for groceries, is done through smart phones, an app is a must if Steemit is to survive and thrive amongst many other rapidly growing social medias.

I don't know... maybe integrate Dtube and Steemit as one? It would make posting easier since I won't have to log into different sites just to post a video.

Perhaps you could just make a direct link in the drop down menu when you click the post button? Or alternatively just provide a separate tab where the "Blog, Replies, and Comments" are located on your profile... just a thought. Streamlining is sexy...
