Car Problems Drain Your Spirits, Pockets & Can Kill Your Weekend Too. Here's My Current Situation Via Youtube..

This list will be updated thru out the life of this post
Of all the problems I've been dealing with.. this is by far, the most jacked up accumulation of problems currently, GRINDING MY GEARS
My car alarm tends to drain my battery when I don't use my vehicle for a full 24 hours. Over the past year or so, I find myself stuck like chuck.. having to get somebody to help me jump it so I can go about my business. As of this week... my battery is no longer carrying a charge.. I can drive my vehicle to my destination but only because the alternator is keeping the stupid battery alive while the vehicle is on.
To add to the list of problems...
Shit Currently Hitting The Fan
- New battery $120 - $200 USD
- whatever the part is to provide extra power source for my car alarm
- Vehicle Registration & Instpection
- Warrant for being a dumbass and not showing up in court
- tread worn out on the tires
- Meteor hitting my side view mirror (or the jealous ex of this chic... doing something stupid to it)
- Cost of labor for some of these issues (Check engine light is on.. which is why I haven't been able to pass inspection)
This is a crowdfunding request to everybody on Steemit & Bitshares
Aside from the cost of a new battery at autozone. I have no idea what total price I'm looking at.. but I do know that I'm currently stuck in my bedroom unable to drive me or my son anywhere we should or want to go. If only I had the money to just get a brand new truck all together.. but ehhh, I don't see that happening anytime soon.. so let's just hope for the best.
Me and @bycompoundfilms will be offering everyone who can contribute at least $50 USD in value, a COMPOUND FILMS Tshirt.
Any donations made in Steem or SBD thru Steemit.. Please leave a message in the memo so we can keep for reference when it comes time for the next video and allows me to know the amount contributed. The first thing I would do to diagnose the problem is to disable the car alarm system, and see if everthing works normal or has the same problem. Good luck.
I'm pretty sure it's the alarm system as the problem never existed till after I had it installed... however, there might be some messed up wiring issues I'm not aware of.
I wouldn't know where to disable the alarm system, either way.. any suggestions are welcome
Thanks @konelectric
Form what read. Most alarm system take about 2 months to drain a battery. So maybe your car battery was just on the edge of going bad and the alarm system was the straw that broke the camel's back. Also get the senitivity turned down. If the alarm is going off when the car is not running, that will drain an old battery dead. And lastly your alarm system could have a bad ground connection. The installer should check this for you for free. If not they souldn't be in business.
got the alarm back in 2013 I think.. yea I have the sensitivity down very low.. I do have to check for the ground tho
How old is your battery?
couple years old already... it was a cheap one too.. switched out the alternator last year.
I'll be working on my junk car (or what I like to call it, 'a classic") tomorrow. Stop by and we can have a couple of beers and I'll take a look at it for you. :)
you in Houston?
There should be a fuse that can be pulled out. The manufature and the person that installed the system should know were it is.
I hit this post with 100 each of whaleshares and beyondbit so that should help
oo snaps.. thanks a bunch homie.. somebody getting tshirt now :P
However, I need to get my truck fixed within the next day or 2.
Either way.. thanks so much for your contribution.. I'll hit you up with a DM for shirt info
sweeet
Thank you very much for the support @jphenderson
I'm not a mechanic. But I've had my share of vehicle problems.
The top of the battery appears that your electrolyte (the liquid in the battery) has boiled over to the top of the battery. My guess is that it was overfilled with water at some point.
Which means someone tried to save the battery.. yes.. you definitely need a new battery. To see if that solves a lot of your problems, you could borrow a battery from someone for 5 or 6 hours and see how the truck behaves.
Now I don't know the history of the truck.. but lucky for you, you don't have a "maintenance free" battery. Which means, you can actually pull those covers off on the battery and check your water levels.
Water in the battery will evaporate over time, and if low enough, they won't hold enough of a charge (or enough cranking amps). If the battery hasn't sulfated itself yet... (the lead has corrosion, which is like rust but they call it sulfated).... you can fill each of the holes at the top of the battery with distilled water so when it charges... it will hold more amps and more of a full charge.
A maintenance-free battery is basically sealed, to prevent water evaporation (via liquid or gases). Your battery allows refilling of the cells. So make sure you pop those off and take a look. Be careful though... that's water-turned-acid in there, and you don't want your naked eyeball looking down into there. (I recommend plastic safety glasses you can get at a dollar store)... fill each of the holes / cells about 1" down from the top. Enough that you can see the water level. So it has room to gas off or bubble still...
Summertime and heat is the worst time for batteries to run dry and thats when you lose your cranking amps and charge ability.
What you really need in your community is to drive around and see someone in their driveway that looks like he's working on cars all the time. Go talk to them. He's probably an uncertified backyard mechanic. There is one guy like that every few blocks away. These guys love cars and trucks and being able to fix them. Yes... they are the case of beer people.
Also, find your nearest scrap yard or junk yard. Often crashed vehicles will have good batteries pulled out of them for 35% the cost of a new battery and they'll even guarantee it for 90 days... which is all you need to get going.
Your repair problems.. if they cost $600 could be dealt with for $50 to $100 if you found a backyard mechanic and scrap yard / junk yard in driving distance. I use youtube to figure out a lot of my own problems -- they can be a great help as well.
I read on @virtualgrowth's blog, there is the matter of inspection violations and other things. But hopefully some of the stuff I took the time to write you could help you think outside the box on how you can fix your battery issues for cheap... even if it is replaced with another used battery.
Careful... running the truck on the alternator alone, puts extra wear and tear on the brushes in the alternator and related wiring, etc. So if you run with a dead battery all the time, you start to overheat and overwork the alternator too.. soon you will be in the market for a new alternator. When your battery craps out, it is time to address the battery issue and not just keep jump starting it.
Let me know if any of this makes sense or helps in some way.
Holy crap dude.. thorough explanation but I'm too chicken shit to try and open a battery..
aside from that, yea my neighbor is a mechanic.. great advice btw.. thanks a bunch, looking to save as much as possible but might skip over, opening up the battery, lol
Once you see it done, you'll realize you could have done this long ago.
you basically take a flat screwdriver and "pop" off the covers. They are just sitting on top of those holes with a little rubber o-ring holding them on. Nothing dangerous about it. (unless of course, you hit the terminals and throw a spark. Don't do that of course)
Just search some youtube channels "how to refill car battery" and watch.
Good luck fellow steemer
Gotta change your thought process. Thinking positive will bring you a brand new truck. We create our own miracles in life. Trust my words bro, take everything negative and look at is as a blessing. Lets say u had to be somewhere today, or wanted to go somewhere, but cant because of your car troubles. Maybe it wasnt meant for u to be there bro. Everything happens for a reason. Invision your new truck, ask the universe for it. Put that energy, good energy into the world. Then be grateful for your new truck as if you already own it. The truck will come to u. Dont worry about how. Just focus on the positivies. Stay blessed my g.
ahh, nice.. great words of wisdom.. real talk
Best of luck bro. I just sent you $2SBD.
I'd love if you could help get this raffle contest out, https://steemit.com/contest/@gohba.handcrafts/steemit-raffle-contest-winner-takes-all
Sorry for spamming.
thanks a bunch homie..
I'll resteem it for you, for starters
thanks mate, appreciate it.
You need to change your battery every 3 years. As long there is power you are fine. Same as steem power.
Thanks, upvoted and followed. requesting same.
great advice.. thanks
That sucks man! I hate having car issues. Hopefully you can get this all resolved.
What's advantages this product from others in case of time of working?
please explain your question a bit more?
Thanks
Wow great to see you got some support here in up votes. Thats the EASIEST way to get u the $$ u need and then u don't have to pay anything back!
I got u covered for the rest.

Best of luck to you @mrwang ! I already read through @quinneaker post , and I think this is a great idea !! His could also potentially be awesome for steemit in the future , and help out many others in a pinch !! 👍👍👍
I too am plagued with annoying problems. I have an F150 too. Just had to replace the starter, water pump and Uv joints. I am a decent mechanic so I don't have the labor costs. Shortly after these repairs I got laid off. Just know you are not the only one. Up voted and followed. I hope shit gets better for you.
Bless you bro :-)
thank you.. I need it right now
West Coast Customs team? :D

nice post @mrwang. really nice post and i am enjoying the love in the comments.... upped as always. enjoy
umm, all good.. but why you blasting off on @fyrstikken and @craig-grant.
Sure they have questionable issues atm... but I'm in the same boat... we all have people hating on us because we're successfull. I hope your issues get sorted out but.. spend less time on them and focus on yourself
I don't know a Elizabeth and I'm not getting married.
YOU got my vote sir.
