Honestly I feel it's killing steemit which was built on the foundation of writing content. The bots are the soft path to gaining votes. Almost everyone is using this route to get noticed. But one thing I personally advise the newbies is to be patient when they join the platform. The bots they see on other people's posts are an investment which rarely brings returns. Something they endure for the sake of having their posts on top of the steemit chats so as to get noticed by other users easily. This is something they accept and since many don't have the financial capacity to invest, they are not willing to go that path. Opting for the hard way which also pays; posting content and commenting.
