I didn't mention upvoting oneself for a reason. Some have a problem with it, although I don't have a problem with someone upvoting their own post.
I post some content on behalf of a steemit-challenged friend so I upvote that but I personally don't upvote my own stuff GENERALLY. But I might if I had a reason to.
