LUNYR is a .....
new decentralized , incentivized, knowledge platform which seems to be a hybrid between Wikipedia and Steemit. It is about to go beta. The GUI already looks better and more organized than Steemit.
Three outcomes for Steemit are likely
- It will kill steemit. This is unlikely.
- No effect on Steemit. Impossible
No 3. And the most likely outcome:
Competition is good. It will force steemit to get better and have a better GUI and present information with organization better than hot and trending etc.
Steemit may have to consider bringing on advertisers. LUNYR is already doing that.
I am not worried. This is good news. We need more of such platforms. I am very interested to see what improvements Steemit may come up with. Imagine LUNYR with peer reviewed wiki type material with high google rankings. You search something. You land on LUNYR and it links that page to various blogs on the subject. My blog can be advertiser supported on LUNYR ! Those that have said we don’t need advertisers on this platform will eat their words. The game is on for Steemit.
What do you guys think?
Have you looked at Synereo / Wildspark ?
I've been "amping" on Wildspark for about a month, and have to say the "attention economy" has real potential to crush Steemit's "proof of stake" model. Synereo alpha is supposed to launch next month - I guess we'll see then...
Hmmm. More to chew on this evening.
Let the fun begin, shall we? Should be interesting.
LUNYR is already selling 45, on 2.5 million fixed tokens. Scary for Steemit.
Yeah, I read some of the other articles. Scary indeed. Hope we don't lose too many of our steemers
Guess we won't need that big of a cruise-liner if LUNYR outdoes Steem
I havent heard of it, but there is room for competition. Once the decentralized crypto driven companies destroy the normal companies. There will be plenty of room I think.. I will have to take a gander at LUNYR though, thanks for sharing yo
The fancy word for upvote is peer review lol? It sounded very official and scientific until I seen that me and my dad could be the peer reviewers! It is interesting though, is it the way they weed out spam posts and etc or what? because it says only if you pass peer review, is that a certain amount of upvotes or what?
Actually no. There alpha membership is by invite only and your credentials have to be accepted. It is a bit more complicated but anyways, we will see. There will be a repository of knowledge that can be constantly updated.
From what I see they are very different ideas...Luynr looks more like Wikipedia with Steemit type rewards. I think they will compliment each other with Lunyr adopters being attracted to Steemit and visa versa.
