Having a hard time looking for contents on Steemit? Yeah, me too.
I really hope this is a temporary feature for now and someday the dev team will come up with a better built-in search engine. (If that's not possible, can someone tell us why in the comment section below?)
But fret not my lucky friends, here's an easy guide for advance search on Steemit using Google Search Operators! Let's get started.
How to search post on Steemit by specific user?
To do this, you'll have to add "by username"
By adding "by username" in addtion to your search terms, you are telling Google Search to find that special keyword which appear in author credit section in every post's footer AND try their best to avoid random mention that appear in post's body or comments.
in quotation marks in addition to your search terms. For example, you are looking for an article about serial killer written by user @donkeypong, you can do it like this:

That's all you have to do, so remember this little trick. It should work quite well for the time being. Hope this article helps you guys & girls get started. Enjoy your stay here on Steemit!
Love this simple how-to guide? Resteem it and share this article to your new Steem friends!

Nice guide man, well done!
Thanks a lot! Glad you find it useful 👍
Tried... couldn't find... :(
You search for your own post?
There's a downside to this tacky Google Search plugin instead of a built in search engine. We can search posts that have been indexed on Google ONLY. That's the only thing I don't like about Steemit so far. 😭
I tried to search for a few friends' posts, tapi couldn't get :( Someone here on steemit was asking to create a way to search for a member's post with name and key word - that should be best if it can be done!
