Everybody Loves Bacon
Creating a winning Steemit post that will build your influence and bring home the bacon.
Steemit is a lot like the World of Internet Marketing, you have to feed the pig to grow the bacon!
Herein I will outline my top tips for creating a killer post that will keep that fridge stocked with the best bacon money can buy!
The headline should be short and grab people’s attention.
The most important words should be put at the start of your title.
People tend to quickly scan through the list so you have to grab their attention quickly.
Article Introduction
Steemit automatically shows the start of an article as well as the title so it should be designed to work in harmony with the title.
It should also capture the reader’s attention and should go hand in hand with the title.
Whatever you do do not repeat the article title.
This wasted space could be better spent to try and get more people to Fill your fridge.
Visually Stimulating Content
Photos and images can and will make your posts more exciting.
Learn to properly use them to help explain an idea more effectively than words alone.
Do not get carried away with pictures in a post as some users will get annoyed with constant scrolling.
Generally speaking, if you think an image will enhance your post, you should add it.
Quality Content Over Quantity
Often times writers feel they need to write as often as possible in order to maximize their income.
It takes time to grow swine to perfection.
While writing lots of posts gives you the potential to come across more bacon, I personally believe that having a well written and posts tailored to a specific audience has the potential to fill the fridge quicker.
Where is The Bacon
To fill that fridge faster with Steemit, you should compare which sections of Steemit have the Best bacon (greatest payouts) and the most replies.
This will simplify who you are writing for and what they are looking for.
What Kind of Content?
Certain content will generally get more upvotes than other content.
Not all content is treated equally.
As a general rule, controversial posts, how to guides, tutorials, and humorous posts will get upvoted more.
Identifying a common problem with your audience and advise of a solution will almost always generate more upvotes.
A Call to Action is an instruction that is used to generate an immediate response.
Almost any salesman you have ever come across has used a call to action on you.
You will have heard it on TV and on the internet.
For example, “add to cart”, “call now”, or “buy it now”.
For Steemit you may try “upvote if you found the article helpful”.
Call to action's are used to increase the number of people doing what you want them to do (in this case upvoting your post).
You will be surprised at how the proper use of a call to action will drive your audience to your intended outcome.
Comments
Comments will help to get a discussion going and create activity around your posts.
People will return time and time again to communicate with each other and you as well.
This is where your audience will give you their feedback on your post.
They may even add something you did not think about.
A good way to start a discussion is to ask them for their opinion.
This is called a “Call to Action” in the marketing world.
After a few articles, you will start to understand which articles will be good for getting tons of comments.
By offering help in the comments section you will increase your upvote rate.
Social Sharing
Link to your Steemit posts on other sites facebook and twitter.
In order to get your first upvotes, link your Steemit post to social media sites that other Steemit users frequent.
Use a call to action and ask them to vote your content if they like it.
This will give your post a jumpstart so that it does not get lost among other posts.
Tags
Tags are used to help categorize your content.
The tags you use should be relevant to the content of your article.
It will help get the Steemit audience you are targeting to your post who will, in turn, be more likely to vote up your content.
I hope that some of these points will help you bring home the bacon with your Steemit posts.
Please let me know below if they do.
