The second that I saw the ratings system I was reminded of google's toolbar pagerank. I knew then that eventually someone akin to Google's Matt Cutts (who, among many other things, was basically their "webmaster relations" guy for a while) would be necessary. So many lessons from the rise of search engines like Google and independent content creators like bloggers can be adapted and used here on SteemIt. However, I'm not sure that someone "officially" working for SteemIt would be a good thing. I think, rather, the community should nominate someone and support them through upvotes / donations, etc. (or possibly having them be a witness) and SteemIt should agree to take anything this person says very seriously. The problem with someone being actually employed by SteemIt in this role is that they would be seen as working for "them".
