In 2018, the SEC fined a cryptocurrency alternate and organizations that launched ICOs through misrepresenting safety tokens as utility tokens, two types of cryptocurrency with essential prison distinctions.
To date, the SEC has also denied 9 Bitcoin ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) and delayed reviewing a tenth. This has had a negative effect on the crypto market for the reason that the summer season of 2018.
Legalizing cryptocurrency ETFs would enable establishments and humans to invest in cryptocurrency except buying cash or tokens. By mitigating danger in this way, ETFs would imply massive scale funding and more stability.
