Social media are computer-mediated technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, career interests and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks Wikipedia.
With the social media socializing gets easier for introverts like me. As an introvert, I spend most of my time alone. The social media is what helps me to meet new friends and interact with other people easily. I have some real life friends that I met through my activities on the social media. Being online helped me not to live the isolated life synonymous with most introverts. I'll testify that the social media, particularly Facebook, pulled me out of my shell and made me a sociable person. This made me love and cherish Facebook so much until February this year when my Facebook friend introduced me to Steemit.
I joined Steemit
Ever since I joined this amazing network, my experiences here have been remarkable. And I rank it as the best among others.
These are the three reasons why I believe Steemit is the best social media.
Steemit helps you discover who you are
When I joined Steemit newly, I didn't have the slightest idea of what I would blog about. I thought about posting randomly as I did on facebook and other social media, but I noticed something. People who do that, don't get the most from this network. So I had to dig deep to find out what I'll handle well with much ease. In the process of doing that, I started discovering my potentials. The genius in me started unleashing gradually. I now earn the respect of some people who look up to me as their mentor. If you ever saw my first post on Steemit, then you'll agree with me that I've improved a great deal.
The quest to find out how to create quality contents on this network, made me discover the strength and abilities I never knew were embedded in me.
Steemit gives you the opportunity to meet people who will inspire you to live a better life.
With my encounters so far, I'll conclude that Steemit has a collection of both the best brains and the kindest people you'll ever find on social media.
On Steemit, we have people who are experts in different fields of life that you can learn from. The good news is that none of them feels too big or too important to respond to your questions or needs.
There are times when someone might be busy, all you have to do is, continually remind the person of your needs.
Also, Steemit has people who inspire others to live a better life by their exemplary activities here. Some of these steemians engaged in selfless acts, while others are involved in all manner of human development and other helpful actions. @thecryptofiend, @infovore, @surpassinggoogle, @acidyo, @neoxian, @demotruk, @papa-pepper are just but a few steemians inspiring others to be a better person.
Personally, the things I have learned from these people, have changed my life for good.
Steemit pays you for something you were already doing for free.
So many people spend quality time on social media doing different things but don't get paid for doing all that. With Steemit, the story is different. You get rewards for your activities here. When you Upvote ( the same as Facebook likes), comment or post, you get rewards for doing that.
Isn't it amazing that you are making money by having fun, sharing your views, making new friends and learning new things?

Steem makes it so you can have authentic conversation on any topic you can imagine .
I love this post and relate to it as an introvert. Ive always wanted to publish content and ideas on you tube and really felt that i had missed the bubble of opportunity to really succeed so i abandoned that. Then i discovered Steemit and i was so excited to be able to find a place outside of my facebook and friends that i could really stretch myself creatively. Im still trying to find my groove but this is a great space. Introverts Unite!

This was a very well written and thoughtful article which I found myself very much resonating with! I too have become quite zealous about steemit since the beginning of this year and have derived so much substance from it!
I don't want to say that folks on steemit are cut from a different cloth than Facebook necessarily, as most of us are actually from Facebook subsequent to our entry here. However using Steemit requires an evolution of expression that Steemians intuitively understand upon joining! It inspires one to really think and use their full creativity before impulsively posting!
I see maximum value being offered freely from a majority of the people here and I wholeheartedly believe that we are all getting smarter, brighter, more creative and expansive because we have the incentive from being compensated for our time! Steemit really appeals to the human psyche in a far more natural way than other social media platforms and is far superior to them in my opinion!

Hmm Steemit is different than other social media platforms but the content is not yet as high quality or diverse. Also, the monetary incentive drives some perverse actions (bots, self promotion) that will likely need to be weeded out in the future so that it can become the best social media.
I couldn't agree with you more.
I also believe that any sort of quality content (i.e., original and you've conducted research before publishing your thoughts, observations, findings, hypotheses and conclusions) that you publish ANYWHERE will help you discover more of who you are. (Although I know it's much easier to create content (and use our time, energy and creative part of of brains) when we know we might earn $$$$ here at Steemit.com !)

I like what you pointed out about social media making socializing easier for introverts - it also makes it easier to meet new friends from around the globe that you wouldn't otherwise be meeting. It can be hard to come out of your shell, but social media is so helpful for that, so congratulations on being able to do that! Have you met any friends on social media platforms that you've become close to, that you wouldn't otherwise have really spoken to? Followed :)
