Don't get me wrong, I love and use YouTube just as much as the other guy, but recently there's been problems that are hurting YouTube's creators. As we also know, the media has been doing things since the beginning of time, whether it be promoting one thing and not another, or whether it be censoring one thing while leaving another thing alone. Not to mention, all the people getting tired of being cut from partnerships that allowed them to earn money for their content, it seems like there is no solution. With YouTube, despite their problems, still dominating the media, the creators are on a fine line between changing platforms, or just straight out quitting. I, myself have seen many of my favorite YouTubers create backup accounts or even create accounts on places like Vimeo just to have a backup in case something happened. As a matter a fact, I was creating content on YouTube, and for a while I made some money for the content I created, and there was one day where one of my videos got striked for no reason. The strike had claimed that I stole someone else's content, which was impossible because I was filming a VLOG talking about my channel! I had no way to fight this strike, and it got worse from there. I got disconnected from my partnership, and I ended up quitting. It's sad, but true.
This is where the content revolution begins. We need to find another platform to migrate to, and put YouTube in it's place! YouTube needs to realize that they have to stop running things like corporate, otherwise it's just a matter of time until people switch to Vimeo, DTube, or even Steemit!
