RE: An Olympian Needs Our Help Steemit! (Please Read This If You Have Ever Been Passionate About Something)

Go Cyrus Hostetler, what an amazing man!
I went to the London 2012 Olympics, it was amazing and lasting memory. More should be done to support athletes from all countries. Theses are the people we want our young people to be aspiring to be, especially in societies where obesity is a growing issue. Let's promote the athletes (well done @brianphobos), rather than the kardashian's (I'm too old to know who else is trending- sorry).

@opheliafu Yeah, maybe instead of investing so much into weapons and military build up we can promote peaceful competition. The crazy thing is that a guy like Cyrus is considered a professional track & field athlete and he has to live on food stamps. It is the harsh reality but he has pushed through and I feel like the Steemit community can help him and benefit from the huge press this could bring if I can get this accomplished.

This is showing in the UK at the moment, we have a lot of advertising from banks and supermarkets with athletes because of the past Olympics.

I know at the end of a day it's selling a product, but it's also getting across to kids that the Olympics is cool. And generating big money equals funding!

For bolt and the others who have been placed in ads it is great. It is good for the whole sport. Usain Bolt has monetarily been the most successful Track & Field athlete of all time. He makes around $18 Million / year which is great. He is the fastest man to ever walk the planet and it will be hard for anyone to break his records for a long time. Unfortunately there is a very sharp drop off in pay for others .
