Before I write this article I just want to say a big thanks to a very friendly guy called Luke who has had a lot of success in Steemit and has been supporting me and has really taught me a lot about the concept of Steemit and the best way to build up a community of followers:)
Now to the post:
Most young people from the age scaling between 13-19 use social media of an average of 20 hours a week which is a lot of time. Social media such as Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram really effects these young peoples lives a lot. Being 14 years of age myself i know that it definitely effects my life. When young people are on these sites they see a lot of models and people that are known as the "perfect guy" or the "perfect girl". This takes huge amounts of self confidence out of young people and makes them very self -conscious about their bodies.
The effects of these things:
- People stop eating food to try and lose weight which is very bad for the body
- Depression
- People hurting themselves by overdoing the gym or exercise
Social media is a big part on young peoples lives.
I think that Steemit would be a much better site for young people because i think that the Steemit community is a positive friendly area. Also i believe that young people can use their skills from the time they put into social media. I am encouraging as many of my friends and young people i know to come to Steemit. The money is a add but the community comes first.
I know that young people coming to the community will be hard as Steemit is pretty much all adults. As i am young and came to Steemit i have had the warmest welcome and a lot of support so thank you for that :)
