Youtube never fails to surprise me in its downward slide. In 2013 I was making $400 a month. Four years later and with 12x the amount of quality videos, I'm still making around $400 a month. At least they don't have a 7-day voting window, however I'm extremely disappointed in Youtube.
Not sure if Steemit is the solution for video content that takes 100+ hours to produce, but I'm glad there's an exodus from Youtube.
I suppose one way for video producers to fund larger scale projects is to post each stage of the project to Steemit and get a chance for exposure and upvotes.
