it's an old story: cutting the dividends to fund investment. but you also need to prevent stakeholders to sell their shares ;)

It is, but this dividend is 15% of 9.5%, which is a pittance once diluted across all Steem Power in the system.
Even if you disagree about how it should be spent completely, you might be tempted to agree here. Honestly outright reducing the inflation rate by 15% might have a better economic impact than a 1.5%pa interest on something that has a daily volatility of 5%
I do not disagree. I like the Dash way to fund development projects and I suggested it already in the past. Just I don't have enough infos to see the consequences of a change like that. As you know, a system like Steem, at this stage, needs to be supported by investors. So you need to check if the market agrees when you plan to change something. It's not just a matter of witnesses and their consensus. You need to anticipate how the actual market will react. And I don't think the community has enough infos to do it. IMHO. :)
Everybody wishes to know what the market wants and how best to react in every business. We can only use our best judgement with limited information. Post responses here should give some indication as to how well this idea is received. As to the broader market's reaction on what they think about moving some of the funds around? I don't know, I don't think this single issue will change their minds either way, but I feel it's important nevertheless
That'a surely true.
