9. Steem Price Update
¯\___(ツ)____/¯ Follow me @penguinpablo for daily Steem statistics.
Your statistics posts are my one stop shop for their respective subjects (steem, crypto market, etc.) the formatting is attractive and easy to read, and it only takes a few minutes to get abreast of recent developments, intuitively, through the data. I'm grateful for the work you put in to compile these posts @penguinpablo. Anyway, have a great day!
You are welcome! :)
It looks better and better in each day!
Looks like the recent uptick might not just be bots after all.
Google Trends is also showing a modest uptick:
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=steemit
Yes, and Steemit.com's Alexa ranking is also still rising: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/steemit.com
True, though Alexa.com can be very slow to reflect changing trends. For example Google Analytics showed that Steemit.com traffic peaking in August 2016, but Alexa showed the peak two months later in October 2016. Presumably the rank is based on slow to change metrics such as moving averages.
Google trends can also lag but usually only by a few days.
This is one comprehensive update. All relevant data points in one place, and it looks like it is a regular update. Thanks and keep it up please.
Quiet handful and analytical data. As we can see daily around 3,000 new accounts are created on average is a positive news for platform and similarly other constraints of upvotes, post, SBD and prices are going up. Steemit is taking off and by December 2017 it should reach to more than 1 million users for sure. Really appreciate your work @penguinpablo . keep it up :) Kudos !
Thanks to inform about current status.

Thank you! Maybe you can help me understand how can the potential value of a post can vary so much from one day to another, while the steem value remains the same?
I have always thought that the value fluctuates according to steem fluctuations.
But checking some of my posts or from people I follow, I've observed a big drop since yesterday. But the price of steem is more or less the same than yesterday! 🤔
Thanks in advance!!! 🙏
The price of Steem that is being used to calculate the payouts is mostly a few days behind the current Steem price. The platform uses a 3 day median price.
The price that was used to calculate the payouts yesterday was $1.55. Today it stands at $1.30.
You can find this current 3 day median price in the top right corner on my website https://www.steemnow.com
ok! thanks! that makes sense now!
Also, I observed my total account value has also decreased. Is this total amount also corrected with 3 days delay?
Yes, that's right. Your estimated account value is also calculated based on the 3 day median price.
So all Steem data points to higher adoption and more active daily users while price has been trading down or sideways last 2 months. Now its only a matter of time before the next mania hits. Last year after huge price spike adoption was slowing down. This year after price correction (not crash) adoption continues stronger. Good sign!
I have a question. I have posted a couple blog entries, made a lot of comments, resteemed a couple blog posts, upvoted a lot, and some of everything I've done has made a few cents each, yet on Steem Now, I don't have any entries under curation rewards and author rewards. Shouldn't I? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
You get your rewards after 7 days :)
Everything going good man! Hope more people will join daily!
Thanks for info! @fkofficials
