9. Steem Price Update
Great day as far as new accounts go, but pretty tough day everywhere else. A trend has definitely been forming and I think we test the .80 Steem price. If it drops below .60 I'm backing up the truck.
One thing I wanted to ask is with Dtube now up and running and gaining popularity quickly, do your numbers take the post count/votes from there? I know it's still on the Steem block chain, but thought that might be some of the reason for the dip in posts/users.

Unfortunately, that's not the reason for the dip. All posts and votes on the Steem blockchain are counted, including those from dtube.

Declining post is a bad sign. We need to find more ways to notice new and smaller users.
The powering down vs power up stats make me think the price will keep tanking and will provide a nice way to pick up cheap steem
I'm new and have dropped my posting down to 3-4 a week since they take a long time and get barely any attention. I was trying for 2 a day when I started but soon realized I was wasting my time. I am commenting much more than posting - maybe 30-50 times a day. My comments get less response day after day it seems like.
I'm a content creator who came for the alexa ranking and find this very discouraging. I'm definitely not inviting my connections who would not be happy for my recommendation.
@jerrybanfield did a post recently showing the voting patterns of whales - with graphics - and it turns out many of them barely vote at all, some vote mostly for themselves or friends, and then there are those who spread the love. The #'s did not look encouraging.
It seems like some of them are departing the scene maybe. It's hard for me to tell with the knowledge I have so far. This has got to be the most daunting platform I have tried in my 6+ years of posting my message - still swimming but losing my optimism. Watching these numbers tank daily is also not helping, but I'm glad to have the information.
I def understand your frustration. However it is possible to be successful if you keep putting up good content, but it takes work. But it hink that is the case with other platforms as well.
True - I'm trying to add value with the posts I do make. I might sound more discouraged than I really am today. I've put a lot of time into many platforms and this is the only one to make any direct money at all so I am continuing. And I've gotten some great steemit connections on those other platforms too. I'm so hooked into those that I can't leave them yet.
I fully understand your frustration. It wasn't until last week that I finally got to a turning point where I get more votes and views. My husband is a Steemian too, he's still struggling as hell even though he keeps on trying with good contents. :(
Thank you for the optimistic reply. I will keep at it. I know that growing my followers and creating good content are the keys here. I need to keep my focus. So nice you and the hubs are both here - he will succeed too, I'm sure :)

When I first got on Steemit. I was inspired by someone named Marly. She does active fun stuff. I found out what I do could also work well here 😉

Yes, because of the low price of Steem and also the low price of the SBD. Converting SBD gives more Steem than buying Steem on the internal market.

How is the average p/d of steem powering up/down calculated?
On the graph it doesn't give the average based on the figures above it?
is that monthy or yearly?
Looking at the exchange rates from may/ june/ july, the price of steem was going up a lot.
Is it possible to see a correlation between average power down in a month versus steem price?
In your earlier reports suring may/ june it only talks about the amount being powered up, was there any power down happening?

The average is calculated based on the days shown in the chart. From July 2nd till yesterday.
In my earlier reports I had only the power ups included, but people were powering down as well. I've added it to my reports later.

Would also be interested if the volume on the exchanges correlates with the power down average.
This way we can reasonably conclude what effect it has?
STOP SENDING SBD/STEEM TO POLONIEX
I'm chocked to see that people are still sending STEEM and SBD to the Poloniex exchange, even though they are clearly having issues. Poloniex Issues Creates Inaccurate Prices on CoinMarketCap!
As you've so clearly detailed in your table there are NO transfers from Poloniex to users for over a week.

One thing is sure, the graphs look scary.
that ignoring hatefull poloniex website is sucking up peoples steem! I don't get it why people STILL use that site. This must end. Poloniex isn't capable or competent to handle such amount. The CEO is a complete ignorant guy who doesn't communicate and where nothing is known of.. that is a red flag to me

Seems to me the price of Steem might start ticking up again, if the number of posts started increasing... but is that even possible, when the price of Steem is declining?
@penguinpablo, have you ever plotted daily posts vs. daily price of Steem? Seems to me there might be a correlation... Steem is having a mini-rally on Bittrex this morning ($1.37 at 9:00am US Pacific, Sunday) -- be interesting to see if the post count rises today.
