8. Steem Price Update
@penguinpablo. You may have noticed that there were no transfers from bittrex. That’s because there is something wrong with their new website. You can not transfer out steem. Refer to my previous comment for all the details. I have no idea when it will be fixed.

We are getting close to a pivotal point where Steem will start being valued independent of the moves of Bitcoin as it continues to demonstrate the value of its ecosystem and the app on its blockchain. The release of SMTs may be the catalyst to start the bounce. While we wait, I am happy to add to position at these prices!

Binance should add SBD to their exchange asap as well since that would make the SBD price increase first and be higher than Steem, which would pull up the price of Steem even further and create a long-term rally for both Steem and SBD, hence benefiting the whole community.
I think high SBD price is actually not good, SBD should be around $1-3 since the stable price will attract big businesses more and this will help STEEM's price in the long term.

I'm not too bothered about the Steem price as I'm all powered up. The increased activity and new users are more important. We need to get the newbies posting and support the good ones. Steemit needs mindshare that it currently lacks. We've shown that the technology works, but the world doesn't know that yet. Some recent stories on Bloomberg and Forbes may help.

But I got a good overall sense that the currency value is increasing, the community is growing and the business model looks very successful. Steem is actually not succeeding. It’s in the process of failing.
Lets hope with all the new accounts being created we can educate them on how steem works - ie not a get rich quick scheme.
Its sad that with all the new accounts being created there is also goig to to be many accounts that get abandoned when they realise you actually have to work hard on here and its not just printing money.
And also its great to see steem over the $2 mark. It seems to have done well to recover in the last couple of weeks
Exactly. Too many people expect to get paid for no effort. It's going to get more competitive as steemit grows. We need to to deal with spammers and others who try to abuse it
I just put my first video on dtube in an effort to branch out and stay motivated. I got two spam comments from that in the first minutes. I have had a lot less spam comments otherwise in the last weeks. I'm going to post a video a day for a while so I will see if the spam was a fluke or if it is coming to those posts.

Projecting the impulse leg down from the point of breakout (squeeze/consolidation zone), there is still room for STEEM to rise against BTC.
Short term target is shown in below, which coincides with the break-out that started the downtrend. I woudn't buy now, but wait for a reasonable retracement or just follow your trading plan :)

The currency movements certainly are interesting. I know quite a few people who bought in when SBD and STEEM were quite high, so I think they's be very happy to see them climbing again.
Also, for context, am I right in thinking that 1.3% of votes that were cast by bots allocated 20% of the reward pool?
