TL;DR / Will you help me buy a new lens so I could continue shooting awesome landscapes? I will choose the 3 most powerful upvoters and mail them a high quality photo print.
...
I had the D7000 and 18-105 lens for 5 years now, and I'm not planning to upgrading any time soon. I don't need the touchscreen and the 50 megapix and 9999 auto focus points. The body is still like brand new with only 30.000 shutter clicks but the lens autofocus system stopped working a few weeks ago out of his own.
I've tried opening up and see if I can find something but I didn't. The damn autofocus motor is just too deep inside and I didn't want to risk. I've talked to sales asking for help, but here service support is non-existent, I should sent it to Serbia or Greece to have it fixed - too expensive to ship and fix.
Hi i gave you a upvote. I am just starting, so my power is very little but i try to help as i guess nothing is too little right. I have been seeing so many good stories here and i hope you also get your wish come true. Have a nice day and rest of the week.
I now understand that something is fundamentally broken here as your comment generated more upvotes than my post.
Get a couple of primes, if you're after good quality photos. Since you have a 7000 series camera, you can find some cheap second hand AF D lenses on eBay, which will outperform your zoom.
I'm thinking to get a 24 2.8 and if I have the budget an 85 1.8 too. Looking them as options.
Sounds like a plan :) The 20mm 1.8G is better, but pricier.
a pleasure to help you ;)
Good luck man!
Upvoted, followed and gifted 20 Steem. Hope you get that new lens soon!
thanks alot my friend! you are definitely getting a print. send me your mailing address at: [email protected]
good luck, maybe travel instead of ship. Arrange, drop it off, have a holiday, go picture some weddings :) or do some marketing for some hotel. Rent a drone :) I can refer you to a good friend who was renting some :) Hah you already have one :) Cheers :)
Fuck it have fun, also good lens, I'm sure it would be worth the time fixing, I wish people kept more of those "objects" imagine giving it to your grandson, with all the trash we spill out, tech should be better kept and respected.
Following, and will check your blog :) feel free to msg in chat if you have questions on steemit :)
