Steemit has a strategy to ensure users have a strong password, and that strategy consists in attributing a long password with random characters to the user and not letting the user choose his own password. But is this the best strategy?
With this strategy a daily active user has to have the password in a convenient place to access each time for login. Nowadays the most common usage of this platforms is in mobile devices which means that most of users is going to have the password written somewhere in the device for convenience, most likely in the device notepad, where the password is not protected.
In conclusion I think it would be more secure to let the user choose his own password but with some conditions, to ensure the password security.
