Steemit feeds people's addiction

in #steemit8 years ago

Let's face it, everyone likes being liked. If you're on Steemit you prefer to be upvoted because you posted great content. I feel somewhat, that one's post, when an honest post, is a true reflection of the author. Of course we can write fiction, but I'm referring to posts about life, love, friends, family, pets and such. We get a glimpse into that person's personal mind set. When we pass someone on the street or even see them on the job, they may just put on a strong face and hide the turmoil they secretly feel inside. Steemit seems to be an outlet of sorts for people to vent and rant about topics that are important to them personally. A place to be creative and let their minds soar...

I have personally invited at least a dozen friends to join Steemit. They join, post an intro and follow up with two or three great posts in a row. Then they are completely ignored. Most make like 2 cents. Then, they never come back. It seems that if you didn't join early, you're destined for failure, just saying. I love the idea of Steemit, but it is really unfair right now on how folks are paid.
Don't get me wrong, I love Steemit and want my friends on here posting and believing in it as well. What my fellow Steemians is the answer?

WELCOME FRIENDS!

I agree, it seems you really have had to be here early, and have the whales following you at the start, because some dont follow many. So they will see the ones they like in their feed first. I think most of us that came in late, will just have to keep chugging a long. It's now a numbers game, and due diligence. It's now a law of averages. I have had 2 post get lucky, one for 7.00 and one for 12.00. The rest are 1 cent or 20 cent. Or the most popular zero! I'm in this game for the long haul. I post to facebook and twitter, never make any money there. So posting here, it's about the same as there, just here I have a chance at winning 1 cent, or 12 bucks! Seems better to me. Steemit for the win! Good post, thank you!

You got my 1 cent :)

thanks, it's already burning a hole in my pocket ;)

Nah it's not the same. But it seems the same. The little dopamine spark you get from a like is the same however on facebook, people post random garbage with no thought about what other may like to read. When you create content for steemit, it's a waste of your own time if it's not in some way relevant to the community.

sad but true. I get tired of hearing the same ole drum being beat. If you got on Facebook and all you saw were posts about how great Facebook is, you'd tire of it very quickly and not return. I can't stand Facebook because of how everyone follows the little media distraction stories and argues and whatnot. I don't wish that sort of thing for Steemit for sure

Maybe a whale can give us one like these for Steem ;-)

The key to STEEMIT is to just keep on. Share your thoughts, feelings and stories every single day. You have to be involved with the community to be noticed. I dont think it is too late for new comers, it's just going to take more effort. I post every single day at least three different times. It does suck that when you have that one awesome post that doesn't get noticed, but if you keep on posting and keep sharing, your time will come.

Wow post as much as that....i struggle to find the time, some times, think my kids are well demanding..i put up my first post a poem a week ago. It didnt really get looked at, i suppose i expected it to be looked at. I was a bit upset. I suppose when i inject more time i will repost.

Yeah I agree with jay I think if you don't have an audience already the three giant factors are LUCK number one, Relevance to the audience as @soraya was saying and persistence. I defnitely believe you should just keep going, this is far more fun than facebook. Even if a post makes 3 cents. Thants's three more cents than I ever made on there. Great post Tommy.

What a trip.
