I joined this amazing community 20days ago and have since invited some of my friends to do same. Their first response when I asked if they've heard of Steemit was: " what's that?" Well, that didn't surprise me, because that was exactly how I reacted the first time I was told about steemit.
The value that steemit proposes is simply amazing and second to none. I know a few passionate people, artist, poets, social commentators etc, who are creative and also active on other social media platforms. Such people will add value to this community.
So I was wondering this morning, how can we grow this beautiful community? I don't know how many active users we have and their countries of origin. I believe we all should join hands to make steemit a truly global community. Let's make it a knowledge and value-creation hub beyond mere social interactions.
The first and primary thing I think we should do is, posting good content. Posting consistently whether or not it gets adequate upvote. More importantly, we need to spread the news and encourage more people to join this community. Let's de-emphasize the reward system and emphasize the social interactions which could in turn help us build a better world. Once we get this right, the reward would follow eventually.
I'm still thinking how we can grow this community in practical terms. We would all be better for it on the long run. Please comment if you've got ideas to share and resteem so we can get more inputs. Keep steeming!
