You know it's all about the bots and upvoting. You are even doing it yourself. So with all this vote buying, content is secondary. To say it is "token" content reflects how banal and superficial Steemit is becoming. I'm an old school Livejournal blogger back when attracting followers was all about the content and dialogue. And I had hoped Steemit would be the same. But when I see posts like this dominating the trending page, I know Steemit is basically a joke. Sure money can be made by playing the game and investing hundreds on bots. But content is secondary and if that's a reflection of our digital age, then we are lost in a web of superficial crap. Eventually it'll just be bots writing posts for bots to vote on .. automate the whole process for your cryptogame, but nobody is going to read it.

I'm a full time blogger myself, on "mainstream" blogs, and I earn a salary that's not too big but it is bigger than most. Of course I have to write quality every time.
I try to do it here too of course, and I succeed, but I think I'd still get success if I didn't and just worried about reaching out to people and "playing the game"... that's the thought that led me to think about this experiment.
