RE: The Steemit Tragedy of The Commons

A few words about the "private" slack channel:

  • Invites are handled by Ned.
  • It is not in any way only the Bitshares witnesses.
  • Discussion there is also very limited and is dominated by whales from outside the Bitshares community with let's call it strong personalities.

Thank's for the answer to that! Since this is not well known or discussed, I find it interesting.

Also, the original purpose of the channel was for active security issues and those are discussed regularly. It isn't practical to expand access beyond the primary witnesses, core developers and major stakeholders without making it unusable for that purpose (in which case another private means of communication would be needed before long and quickly be created).

There might be some impression that people are on that channel having secret discussions all the time. That is not the case. It is used sparingly when issues arise that need attention from these parties and the rest of the time, not at all.

Thank you for the clarification!

I even think there is no need to explain what you do there. It's your right to have an own chat. Nothing wrong.

Thanks for addressing this concern.

Now everything makes sense to me.
The whales group and discuss about ignorieren me :)!

No, seriously. It's your right to have a group. Nothing wrong
