Hello My Fellow Steemians,
As We all know we have been provided with an extraordinary platform to showcase our writing skills, it becomes extremely crucial for us to know what to do on steemit but rather It is as important to know what we shouldn't do on Steemit and what to expect and proceed with the process of growing our profile in order to Learn and Earn.
I would like to highlight few pointers that might be helpful to y'all throughout your steemit Journey :
Lack of ETIQUETTES :
Unlike other social media plateform like Facebook, twitter, wordpress etc where we have been exercising our Freedom of Speech without any reasonable restrictions, Here on Steemit You are only allowed to stay calm, friendly, positive and helpful towards others,& this is not done directly but indirectly by our Peers called Steemit Whales, Steemit Cleaners and few bots etc. This doesn’t mean you cannot express what you feel or pretend to be good,Ofcourse you can do that by way of constructive & healthy conversation in the form of Comments. The worst thing you can do on Steemit would be to act inappropriately and show disrespect towards other community members.Someday or the other your act would come to their notice & your post or the comment might get Flagged having serious repurcussions like Lowering your Reputation and hiding your comment.
Spam :
I have seen few of my fellow mates who thinks spamming on a whale post via Comments would fetch them Quick followers and Curation Reward, But sadly this isn’t the way steemit works, if you tried spamming your post links or irrelevant comments on others post you are more likely to be reported.
Upvoting Excessively :
If you are new on steemit you must know that The more STEEM POWER you have the more influence your upvotes will have and the bigger your curation rewards will be, with every upvote you make at 100% it will lower your Steem Power by 2% per vote,Your voting power recharges at a rate of around 20% per day. If you deplete your Voting Power it can take quite some time to recharge to be at 100% again so you need to use it wisely. As a general rule which i have been following you can easily do 10 upvotes per day without going below 80% of your Steem Power. Remember your curation reward depends upon your voting power, lesser the power less the reward.
Copying/ Plagiarism :
If you are among those people who find it extremely hard to create quality content then you might get into trouble here on Steemit if you tried copying others content from the internet be it pdf files, news, steemit post of others etc.You are most likely to be flagged and if your reputation goes below 25 you are in serious trouble.
Authorship/ Curation Reward :
Steemit provides you with curation rewards based on the steem power you possess in your wallet. You can earn through two ways in steemit either through
Commenting
Upvoting
Posting
Make it a rule that always upvote on a post which has been posted after 30 minutes or more to earn maximum curation reward. Generally your posts will contribute to greater rewards than a curation reward therefore try to post at least one post a day, Remember consistency is the key here.
Irrelevant Tags :
We all know the power of tag and hashtags, it helps the content to be organised and kept in a similar genre so as to make it easier to browse later. Never use irrelevant tags or your post might never get the required popularity it should,if you had tagged it with the correct tag
Impatience :
Rome was not built in a day! & so it will be your Steemit Profile.
If you are having a notion in your mind that you are going to get easy money here then probably you need to rethink because nothing in this world is free. You need to work hard in order to taste success, Here on steemit Persistence, Patience And Consistency are the key prerequisites. You need to be consistent in your post and strong enough to sustain the draught period of your steemit profile.
