Vexing to become more holy by positive things is a common confusion many people generate.
Look at the temple in the OLD testament. It was recognized holy because that’s where God lived.
Things have changed now. God doesn’t live in an OLD Testament temple but rather lives inside you.
Wherever He lives is built holy by His presense there. That means you are holy, right now at this very point.
Paul didn’t suggest that you are to try to become holy but said that you are God’s temple and that, since God is holy, that is what you are.
You may not sense or even act holy at times, but that’s not what figures the truth on this matter.
The spirit of God lives in you, and that alone is what makes you pure. Your need isn’t to try to become holy but to recognize that, because of Him, you heretofore are.
When you see that, your lifestyle will begin to be guided by that fact.
Just live it!
