A new decentralized content network, "Yours", will be released soon. The network will be Bitcoin-based, with a lot of the same ideas that Steemit incorporates. You will be able to "tip" creators of content, and will earn rewards for tipping good content early.
This seems like a pretty big problem for Steemit. Since Bitcoin is currently a much safer investment then Steem, some users might prefer the new platform and abandon Steemit.
On the other hand, there are some major differences between the platforms. And since Steemit has been around for a bit longer, if "Yours" won't bring anything new to the table, Steemit might win out just by being first.
This is certain to get interesting, and I'll be watching closely.

I think It might be an issue, but I feel their rewards will not be as great as ours, therefor it might be a small fight, but in the end Steemit wins TKO first part of the Second round. The small amounts of bitcoin they will distribute will veer people away. Keep Steeming on :)
That's a good point, I think it's going to be hard for Yours to compete with the rewards people are earning on Steemit

It would have to be really good to pull people away from Steemit and I kind of doubt it that it will be, because Steemit will have already ironed out some of the growing pains that will be present on the new platform and it doesn't make sense for us to accept a downgraded website.
