Interesting post that has encouraged a lot of interesting comments too. Being only active for 3 weeks, I do struggle to understand how the whole thing fits together. There is an underlying assumption that all members are computer literate. This is probably true for a great many folks here, but not all of us are really competent, myself included.
That said, your points 5, 8 and 10 are quite hard for me to understand. Where does a person make suggestions or meet a whale and what does powering down really mean? How does it impact other members? Maybe these things are very obvious to others, but I am not sure where to get answers to many of my questions!
As you know, I really appreciate all that you do, so there is no criticism intended here. But for those of us who did not grow up using computers, or who are using small tablets and one fingered typing, steemit can remain a mystery for much longer than many other places online, whether we wish to become successful or not. That's not saying it is a bad place, I think its amazing, but I can see flaws.
