The river, as one of the elements of God's natural creation, is a treasure that we need to keep in order that its function in the life of the beings in this world is always immortal.

Human dependence on the river continues to be lasting but due to irresponsible human behavior today we find that most rivers in our country are becoming increasingly polluted. Today's society needs to realize that rivers play a very important role in everyday life both social, economically and politically.

Among the major river importance is the supply of clean water to humans for domestic consumption. If the community used river water for washing, cooking or bathing, the function is still in existence. In contrast, today's water supply from rivers is channeled into the dwelling by piping to facilitate our daily lives. The people living in urban areas or in the rural areas need not have to go through the shrubs or forests to get rivers supply for daily use.

At the same time the rivers are also very important as it produces fertile soil when floods occur. The stream flow in the downstream area usually carries nutrient-rich deposits before being deposited in the river valley.

If we look back and contemplate for a moment the history of early human civilization in the world, we will find that the center of civilization is often concentrated in the river valley. This can be seen through the formation of human civilization in the Nile River Valley and the Indus River Valley as the river functions as a transportation system and the natural human relations system. The absence of road transport systems, railways and air transport has led to the functioning of rivers as a human retrieval system to be dominant as the saying goes, no root rattan is useful.

On the other hand, the river is very important as it functions as a natural habitat for aquatic life such as fish and shrimp. The existence of such animals can help preserve the environment ecosystem and maintain a natural food chain. So it is not surprising that the rivers can also provide the supply of cheap protein sources to humans.
