State minister for telecommunications and telecommunication Tarana Halim said that the government has got a "compromise" with Google and Microsoft as well as Google and Microsoft for the "unexpected issue" on the internet within 48 hours. Replying to a question in Parliament on Sunday, the state minister said, "There has been a detailed discussion with Facebook, Google and Microsoft that they will respond to the remedies within 48 hours if they are contacted by the government on rational untested issues."
The State Minister said this information in front of Parliament on the question of independent member Rustam Ali Fazizi. The government has stopped the chance to visit Facebook in the last 22 days, from November 18 last year, showing the reasons for the closure of militants and terrorists' contact after killing two foreign nationals and police checkpoints.Earlier on several occasions, the micro blogging site Twitter and the easy-to-speak media on Skype and Emo were closed in Bangladesh, with the rumors that militants and terrorists used to interact with these apps to avoid police surveillance.
State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim said in a letter to the Facebook authorities in November that the 'misuse and negative' of Facebook has been addressed in Bangladesh. Later, in January this year, they also held a meeting at the Asia-Pacific Region Head Office of Facebook.Returning to the country after the visit, the state minister said that the Facebook authorities assured the government's complaints / requests regarding cyber security, contempt for women, and the current religious and social values of Bangladesh.
Then in April, when the Facebook authorities released their seminal 'Government Requests Report' in April, it was found that they responded for the first time to request the Bangladesh government to seek information. Last year, on July-December last year, 31 requests were asked by the Bangladesh government on behalf of the Facebook users. According to the report, 16 percent of the 67 percent of the information was given by the Facebook authorities to the government.Earlier, the government of Bangladesh had received no response from Facebook authorities for 37 user information in the last two and a half years from January 2013 to June 2015.
Tarna Halim said on the question of Rustam Ali Fazazi, "Process of taking necessary actions for the promotion of public awareness on training of BTRC and Law Enforcement Agency with the help of Facebook, Google and Microsoft's Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters, and to ensure the safe use of social media is in progress."Tarana Halim, responding to the question of YouTube user reserved member Fazilatun Nesa Bappi, said, "Google has pledged to shut down the video on YouTube's request for the closure of the video.
The government is also working with Microsoft to prevent child pornography and cyber security. "Regarding the question of Habibur Rahman Molla, State Minister Tarana said, "There will be a total of 40 transponders in the Bangabandhu-1 satellite, 20 of them will be used for Bangladesh and 20 out of 20 countries. This will allow you to earn foreign currency by transporter rentals.
