"Steemit Does NOT have a Fair System of Payout" - To the Whiners Out There 'Boo Hoo Hoo' get over It ( a Newbs View)

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Iam relatively new here but I have seen some Members argue that the System is just NOT fair.

Is it Fair ?

At first when I came here last month, I admit I was a little taken back by payouts for seemingly mediocre Content that I thought was rather high.
I was somewhat naive and really didn't understand what Steemit was. Now I just have a better grasp of it . Unfortunately some do not as they keep whining and complaining that their Content should be making more money while others should not.

Get Over Yourselves Whiners...It's More than Sheer Content

After I got over my initial naivete and started learning about Steemit, I realized it is more than just getting paid for producing Content. And it's more than the skill of putting down words on paper ( or in this case on a blog).

Nope !!

It's also about connecting to others, and interacting with them, encouraging them, supporting them, inspiring others, and contributing to the overall ecosystem that Steemit is. I argue to be able to do this effectively... is a skill in of itself.

Success at Steemit is Simply a Microsom of Life

Think about it. The most successful people in Life are many times the ones building strong relationships with others. Those who really go out of their way to encourage and support others. Those that are not just concerned about their own success but have a genuine desire to help other succeed as well. They are are passionate about doing this . That's Steemit in a nutshell.

What You Need to Do at Steemit to Find Success

I am still new but in my brief time here I can reel off a few principles I have observed among the most successful Steemians that I think anyone can adopt and do well with.

  • Obviously concentrate on producing the best Content you can. But think Quality instead of Quantity

  • Personally, I have been doing more Commenting on other people's blogs than my own Blog Posts. I look for Blogs that I find interesting and similar to my interests and what I blog about. And just really contribute to the ongoing discussion at that blog. People will start to take notice.

  • Start really making personal connections NOT business connections. I have been going on Minnow Support Project and going in the chat room and just meeting new Steemians. Not only talking about Steemit but talking about what tv shows we like, whose going to win the Super bowl , what we think about Donald Trump lol etc..etc..Steem Chat is another one to take advantage of.
Bottom line : It's about building those long term relationships and people helping one another to reach their goals and dreams.

  • Specifically my routine has been going to my Feed ( first thing) and looking at the newest Content. And if I think I can contribute and leave a quality Comment on a blog, I will. I aim for five of those. Then I will go to ' introduceyourself ' and look for the new ones (Not trending or hot) . I am looking for new Steemians and new talent. And align myself with that new talent by Commenting and Following them. I go for 5 comments there as well.

  • Finally, make sure you approach your time here at Steemit as a marathon and NOT a sprint :) From what the most successful Steemians have told me is that you should NOT even worry about Rewards, Followers, Upvotes etc..etc.. the first few months. It just takes some time and learn to enthusiastically embrace that.

Conclusion

Well, after a month this kind of sums up my perspective here with Steemit. I am sure many more successful and established members can add a lot more insight than this young minnow can :) ( and feel free to do so below)

And I do want to really thank many of these established Steemians who continue to help me and so many others day in and day out. You really have shown that you have a sincere desire to see Steemians grow and all of Steemit to grow as well.

Kudos to you , and we strive to carry that torch in the future :)

Anyway, I just hope this post helps a little for the brand spanking new Minnows and the struggling ones. And I look forward to continue to getting to know many of you.

Cheers,
Robert

life is not fair but if u try hard enough you will get the prize

Yep @lasper I agree. Trying hard enough as well as having a good Plan. Thank you . sir

You'll be hard pressed to find a 'fair' system anywhere... but to find something that you can do that aligns with your values and interests, there's definitely a lot more that the steemit community can offer other than cryptocurrency. I think you definitely have the right attitude and hope that you get the most out of your time here :)

Well said @plushzilla, well done too by resteeming it!

Thank you so much @plushzilla. I try to have the right attitude, at the end of the day it's the only thing that is everlasting or at least close to it :)

I have been on here about as long as you have, and i have to say that everything you said is spot on. You have to try to make the most of the time that you spend on the platform to meet people and broaden your network of people. Great post!

Thanks @wylde. Really means a lot. Cheers, Robert

Hey Rob, you learned how it works very quick.

Steemit - come for the money, stay for the relationships

:D

Thank you @getonthetrain. And let me tell I so appreciate your Support. It really means a lot :)

you said it so well @getonthetrain !!

Bravo! Very well composed, and very well presented. I couldn't agree more. If your primary concern is making money on this platform, then you will fail to grasp the integral concept that will make you money lol. There are some practices on here though, that many consider a little shady, but I don't let it bother me. I believe my content is original, and may appeal to some, and profit? That's not why I do it.

Thanks so much @futuremind. Yes, I too have noticed some shady stuff. And youre right to not let it bother you. It happens everywhere in our Society. Don't let a few apples spoil the whole batch :)

Yo're right.
I have been on this platform for 7 months and it has been a process. I have learned to have pascience and enjoy the content of others.

Thank you @donpeter. Patience seems to be certainly critical to have here at Steemit, no question !!

It is one way true that the system here is not completely fair. There are loop holes and some people find those loop holes and get good rewards. We can't blame them and we can't even blame the one who created this system. Maybe we can look at this with positivity and move on.

Your tips for minnows are great. When I first joined Steemit a month back, I didn't have a proper idea about the platform. I explored a lot. I just initially looked for articles that interested me. Today more than posting I read a lot and learn a lot every day. That keeps me happy.

Hey,

I myself are quite new to Steemit and now your blog post popped up in my "Feed" and I have to say, you are right. In the beginning I thought all the time about how people could get so much upvotes and especially so high reward upvotes but with time I also realized that it is more about being part of a community then doing just content.

I also concentrate more on commenting other interesting stuff since some weeks so that I could find some interesting people here :)

One think I haven't really known is that there is a chat-system, which I haven't tried so far, thanks for bringing this up. I really should try this out too.

No problem @cain. Thank you for your Reply . This whole System is really straight forward. People helping people. Although for me at least in the beginning the System at Steemit has a somewhat steep learning curve . Especially when you are like me and have NO experience with Cryptos

Yeah @cantdecide , that Minow Support Project at Discord is really good. A little confusing at first. But you can register and get access to their Bot and stuff.

You are absolutely right! The more and more I interact with Steemit the more I realize that it is just like any other community whether it be online or in your everyday community. It is all about interacting with other people to get to know them on a more personal level

You make me realize how much of a beginner I am. This platform has a great potential and if it's not being utilized properly, it's only our fault : )

Thanks for this post ! Makes a lot of sense ! I really like steemit and you have given me a very good perspective!

Just try our best and have fun!

beatyfull

Seriously great points. I'm learning that on the Steem blockchain, patience is the virtue to embrace. Peace and prosperity to all reading, commenting, and learning through this journey

Great content, actually. Good answer for newbies like me. especially looking through the introducing myself part.

In a nutshell: Money is not the goal but a consequence of good networkings in the steemit social midia. Do a good job, even if you are not the best writter, and you will be rewarded for that!

Hi @robertandrew , i really like that you added picture with your family at the end..it means you truly love them:)..i love my family and my kids, more than anything and i fight so we can all be together soon. And i am 100% agree with everything you said, steemit is truly a marathon and is a great..no...the best community one can be involved in and i try each day to bring my humble contribution to it! Good luck and God bless you!
