steemit is just a frontend to the blockchain. if steemit, inc was gone, there would be other frontends, and there are already usable ones
Thanks for that clarification. Been here since the start, though as not into the technical details much, have overlooked that fact.
Are there any others in particular that you consider worthwhile using?
currently using busy.org front end. nice to read, but not that good for everything else. I heard they're upgrading to v2 soon though
STEEMIT will be here. I have NO FEAR..........
I confidently second that notion.
life would be less fun and am sure going to miss those I connected with on a regular basis and them cyber friends I made here so - it was just a DDos thanks God!
The whole day today I was unable to log in.
And when it works then only for one action, finish!
I also asked the community about that problem when I saw, that is going back to normal.
But the question you asked, many people asked.
I am still young on this platform. But from what I see is if that would happen it would cause some horrible scars.
The number one especially the whales the lost of their invested money.
Not only for them, I am taking them as an example because they invested a huge amount.
And it is painful.
But we have to face it, this could happen.
Then, of course, the connection we made here through this platform. the lost of the emotional value would also be huge especially for those who are longer here.
For me, i say we have to know and need to be prepared.
This can happen.
It wouldnt be easy to go backwards. I have found a way to communicate on here that i have never seen replicated on any other site. I barely facebook, and shun other social media sites but for some reason this one just feels right. Don't make me go back....
Long live steemit!✌️✌️✌️
Yes there was some issue with the site and i thought for a while it was my connection issue.
I posted an update, a few mins ago on my page, it has been under heavy attack.
The really LSS version is up on my page.
You make a good point as always.... what would you want to be leaving as you legacy...
One of my last posts I struggled to get up y-day w the issues here --- was the huge news the Energy East Pipeline project was cancelled, it was breaking news for Canadastan.
Be well my friend.
Well for now I'm trying Busy.org and that seems to be pretty nice from what I have seen of it so far. I'm also thinking about how difficult it would be to code up my own private website in Python to talk to the block chain, lol. I don't think we have too much to worry about and I hope things will come back to normal soon.
I'm not sure if you managed a steemit post, but I'm sending my reply on busy.org my phones esteem is working fine plus there is chainbb.com. I never saw the value of external sites till today, now it's very clear....
We will survive :-)
Cheers
Nice Ecuadorian hat you got there! ;-)
I've got one too!
What part of Panama? We're thinking about it.
It's called a Panama hat here :-)
I'm about dead center of Panama in Ocu, Herrera between Chitre & Santiago.
Thanks!
In my opinion, steemit will stay but expect more attack in the future. Since it become a threat to other social media site specially facebook and other censorship site, those will surely use all there might trying to take steemit down.
I hate those technical issues. That really makes us wonder what would have happened if
Thanks for the post. I have tried several times in the past few hours to upload a post to no avail. I am now just able to see the site become more responsive.
Great.
Every human has some kind of Ego. Some is low, moderate or too high. It can be destructive sometimes. Steemit managed to direct or channel the energy of the collective egos toward the benefit of all. The absence of steemit last night was a confirmation to what I always said:” things must be evaluated according to its benefit to society”. How we know the benefits or real value of something is by losing it.
For example if all Hollywood go on strike for 10 thousand years not much would be affected. If garbage bickers, police or fire fighters go on strike for days, federal government will declare martial law. But look at the paycheck difference. We have a lot to learn how we should evaluate /appreciate things.
Steemit will stay! But we should brace for when the attacks begins again.
nice post
That's always a risk. One morning you wake up only to see that the platform is not around anymore and it's gone forever. But that is also valid for anything in life...
