Not sure if any of you guys notice this with yourselves, however I find myself going through phases of being really excited about Steemit and spending a lot of time on here, and then I'll either get kind of bored with it, or get busy with other things in life. At times I feel I get more out of my effort other places so keeping the 80/20 rule in mind I'll spend more time on other platforms. More recently however it's the glitchiness of this site and DTube that's been kind of turning me off. I'ts frustrating to write up a post only to have it disapear, as I sit here typing this I'm writing this post for the third time, yes despite making a post telling you guys to backup your work I'm an idiot and didn't do it twice in a row lol.
ALso I was just curious in general if Steemit is still growing at a fast pace. I remember a few weeks or months back hearing Steemit was getting like 12k new users a day or a week which I thought was pretty impressive. I was seeing more and more people on Reddit and Youtube and Social Media in general talking about Steemit and trying to bring new people over. IT seems like a lot of that excitement has died out. Are we still growing at a nice pace?
I still love this site, I've made a lot of good friends here, I like how there's no censorship and I really want this site to have a bright future but just losing a bit of Steem lately. I'm heading out of town tonight to go camping, hopefully come back with some renewed energy and some good content to post.
The lag on Steemit has been a real challenge over the past few days. I've had to re-write multiple comments and posts, not to mention having to spends in some cases 5-10 minutes trying to upvote a post.
I'm sure it will be fixed soon. The good thing is the Steemit blockchain is still running smoothly.
Hey @techwizardry , I noticed your taking a photo in your profile pic. I just got my first DSLR an SL2 and am heading up to pictured rocks this weekend so not a lot of time to familiarize myself with it before leaving. Have any tips to share as far as photography or DSLR's in general?
I'm going to be camping so have an opportunity to take some great wilderness pics...
Awesome pics. The only tip I gave give is this: when you upload your photos to Steemit, make sure to provide a link to the full resolution image so fellow Steemians can enjoy the photo in its full glory.
Depends where you're looking. #steemsilvergold is exploding at the moment, with people unboxing their steem-branded silver coins.
The glitching is certainly an issue, but I think we need to keep in mind that we're here as beta testers. In exchange for playing lab rats, we get the chance to build a profile, reputation and follower base before the site is really marketed to the mainstream.
Two years from now, every second person you meet will tell you how envious they are that they weren't here right now.
Hey Matt, thanks for the inspiration buddy appreciate it. I kind of lost site we still are beta testing so this is part of that, I used to think about that often but kind of got so caughtup in the growth I sometimes forget this is such a new site still and as you as point out still beta testing.
I wasn't even aware of #steemisilvergold so I think that brings up another good point. I've kind of maybe not been as active so I miss out on a lot of the great stuff going on which would probably excite me. I'm a bullion collector as well mainly have pandas and eagles but Ill have to check these out
Such a cool story.
@sevinwilson came up with the idea and farmed it around a bit.
@phelimint jumped in and offered to make them a reality.
@sevinwilson designed the back and ran a quick competition for designs for the front, which was won by @bearone.
Now it's only 2 months after the initial conversation and every bastard but me is opening his box of coins, while I get to sit here in South Australia and track mine as they slowly move across Canada.
my posts haven't been showing up either
famous,Thank you very much .. follow up
It can be a tough thing for sure. Sometimes I look back at how much time I have spent on here and when I add up all the money I have pulled out and how much my account is a person could easily say it wasn't worth the time.
I go back and forth on it as well and I will start doing the math on how much I would have to power up to really make gains overtime. It is hard to do because there is always that voice in the back of your head worried that the price will drop some and your time will be eroded away.
Also another thing that is hurting STEEM is that so many people are converting alt coins to BTC to get the "free" coins so it is sort of a drain for the time being.
Suddenly if Steem got up to $2.50 again we would all be pumped again.
Yep mine lost a lot. Depressing to see that happen. Hate the ups and downs.
