Do You Know Which Posts of Yours Will Do Good and which Will Flop?

I'm always kind of surprised which of my posts do well and which ones people don't really get into. Sometimes I'll put a bunch of time into something I think is really cool and it's kind of a dud and other times I'll simply ask a question and it blows up, blowing up meaning gets some traction nothing crazy as I'm still fairly new here.

If you enjoy creating content it's really no loss putting out content whether it's well received or not, and every piece of content is a learning opportunity but I just find it interesting how I'm often surprised by what does well and what doesn't. Same with anything though whether it be Steemit or Youtube.

How about you guys. Do you have a pretty good guage of how something is going to do or do are you often surprised things you didn't expect people to dig that much wind up being your most popular works?

I feel you, I can't tell you how many times ive put so much time and effort into something thinking its going to really pick up steem. But its the stupidest things I do that people really enjoy. I guess in life, just throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks.

It is all about the Pictures, that's what GRABS People.

Yep. In fact, that picture of the baby with the big eyes is the reason I read this post. 🙂

That's actually a great point and something I probably havn't put enough focus on. Question, how do you get to decide what is the main picture for a post. For me it seems it's the first picture I put in a post, however what if I want to use a different photo earlier in the post but I don't want the first image to be the thumbnail for my post?

HTML code buddy!

i think if you are a minnow, it really doesn't matter what good content you have until you are noticed by someone big or befriended and upvoted. It depends on your audience too, how engaged they are with you - are they just a number? Will they resteem? As they say the higher the number the more chance of votes, that's what gets you to the hot page. I think that only dedication and determination work in the end. As well as other legitimate tricks to move up yourself (paying, promoting, investing steem into SP, so on)

Maybe we're all in a great big Skinner box, part of a conditioning experiment.

Yeah it is hard to know. And with Steemit a lot of it has to do with who sees it. You only need one person to see it who has a ton of power. You could end up having 5 views and make $200 on it which is super wacky compared to the adRevenue model that YouTube uses.

That's interesting. I wonder if it's good or bad so have so much power in a handful of people's hands. Is there any point at which a sheer number of positive attention tips the scales ex. if you get 100 upvotes you get some kinda turboboost type deal? lol

I just grab what i think cathy in my eyes!
