Your favorite Steemit resources for newbies

in #steemit8 years ago

Would you help me generate a list of resources or general comments that will help newbies create quality posts, foster more community and engagement, and improve their overall experience on Steemit?

Spoiler alert: This is just as much for me as it is everyone else.

Specifically, I would love more resources on how to create the most engaging posts in terms of topic, format, timing, etc.

As a side note, I have to say that I have already met and connected with some of the most supportive, intelligent people here on Steemit and I've only been here for a few weeks. (Hard to believe I didn't even know about Steemit before then. Shout out to @awakealiveaware for sharing this with me!)

Point being, I get the sense that everyone wants everyone else to succeed and feel included here, which is super cool, and a much different vibe than Facebook and other related platforms. So anything you can contribute to the success of others is much appreciated! Leave it in the comments.

Hey Samantha!

You'll want to check out @sykochica and @papa-pepper because they both just did a Series of articles that will help you and all new members.

In general, here are some tips that will help, in my opinion.

Post weekday mornings or afternoons, East Coast time. People with higher steem power are more likely to find you then.

Post regularly.

Include at least 5 paragraphs and 3 pictures in each post.

Reply and up vote everyone who comments your articles.

Comment and up vote everyone you find interesting on here.

Aim for 40 votes a day, but the optimal number will be decreasing to 10 soon, unless you change your voting slider to 25%.

Link your steemit posts in all of your other social media. Ask your friends to do the same.

Any questions, just ask, and I'll answer! Steem on; you're here at the perfect time and this can change your life. It already has, for many people!

Well one thing I've noticed are the importance in choice of tags....but where isn't that true....well I guess more so here since we are limited to 5
