Doesn't Steemit feel like a different platform today? Tweaks have been made and the results look great!
After the last hardforks the value of Steem began to rise in value for the first time in months and it hasn't stopped rising since then.
We are just 10 short hours into Hardfork 19 and after a x4 increase to our voting power, the increase in rewards has been incredible to see. Just check the trending feed and see how much people are making now!
The value of Steem took a small dive at the moment of hardfork implementation while all those rewards were redistributed, but has very quickly risen back up to a healthy looking $2.27
But can this last?
It is not yet clear to me how an adjustment like this can be made without affecting the value of the currency somehow.
One thing is clear however: voting percentages are dropping like a rock across the board as we all feel out this new balance.
And many autovoters have not been adjusted, so will currently be paying out decent rewards but draining the voting power.
What is my advice?
My advise is to use this moment and post like crazy! And start upvoting more too! But always keep an eye on your voting power.
If you don't know how to view your voting power, get an account with steemd or busy where you will find your voting percentage listed.
Check it regularly to see how quickly your power goes down in proportion to your voting. And adjust your voting habits accordingly so that your voting power always sits above 80%.
Interesting fact
A bunch of people lost Steem at the moment of hardfork implementation last time around due to the reset between a 24h and a 7 pay day pay-out system.
So, we cannot assume that the rewards will stay this awesome for long.
Though we rather hope they do!
Onward and Upward my friends :)
Many Steemians fear HF19 sould make Steem price drop like a stone in water, but you showed the other way round. This can be treated as a positive evaluation of HF19, and will Steem price keep rising?
I think in long term, yes.
Frankly, I don't care too much about short term changes of Steem price, I am not going cash out and stop Steemit for good in next week.
I pretty sure I will still be around in next years!
Me too my friend. Steem will be around for a long old time I think. And many awesome platforms will be built upon the steem blockchain.
Steem still holding on today at $2.17
So no real evidence of any damage to the currency. Time will tell...
But things are looking good for sure :)
today was fun - Question about voting power - when does your voting power reset? or does it? lol .. thanks in advance. 😁
Voting power recovers slowly. If you stop voting completely, it should recover at around 5 to 10% per day.
ahhh CRazy .... thanks!! 😁
I am enjoying the update so far as well. You bring up some good points about the unforseen future effects of changes. I appreciate the tips for keeping voting power above 80% . quality post @samstonehill
My pleasure to share what I have learned with you.
In truth I am very bad at keeping my own above 80% but that is always the target!
@samstonehill great post like to seem more viva la steem
Viva la steem my friend! Many thanks for the comment :)

Great intel
Thanks. Am pleased you found it helpful :)
I've been back on Steemit the last week, and it's really reminded me of what Steemit was like during the launch. It was pretty genuine, and a lot of community pushes in beneficial direction.
I'm glad I held my Steemit!
Yes, this is a pretty exciting time to be a part of this. Time to get those posts in my friend :)
